Subject: Companion Guild, but trained at the Academy

From what I understood from Inara's comments about Saffron (Mrs. Reynolds) was that Saffron had been trained at the Academy as a Companion, and so I presume that's where Inara got her training as well. The "Companion Guild" seems to be like a union for companions, like Xander's never-mentioned construction crew's union (oops, wrong board!). The Guild seems to have laws all Companions abide by, rules and regulations, such as Inara can choose her clients, isn't forced to have sex with people she doesn't like, such as the magistrate of Jayne's town. Of course, this is all speculation based on tiny hints dropped here and there. I could be way off base!
