because of the nonspecialized jobs, women and children were hired into the factories

they were payed less than others because they did"less" work.

this was a lie that the company told them so they didnt have to pay them as much

over 1.7 million children under the age of 16 were employeed at numbers of these factories.

child laws were passed but the children who worked in agriculture wwere exept from these laws

these children often worked twelve hour days in the feilds

because of the children being over worked, they were often tired and were clumsy around the machinery

this caused injury or most often death to the child

the american accident rate, because of the number of accidents in the factories with all workers, was higher than any other industrial nation in the world
