A. Was the Spanish-American conflict
1. Started in April and end in august
2. More people died from disease
B. Supply and Mobilization Problems
1.The American troops expericence a shortage in rifles, ammuntion
a. The uniforms were too thick for cuba weather
2. The US had to rly on the National Guard units
a. The local leaders were without traning
3. The entire mobilization process was conducted with remarkable inefficiency
C. Racial conflicts
1. A good amount of soilders were black some didn’t like it
a. The white were against Indians and now were Cuba
2. The white provocations and black retaliation led to a nightlong riot
3. Blacks played crucial roles in the raical tensions in Cuba
D. Gave Americans blacks a stronger sense of the injustice of the own postion
