Subject: New Zealand customer

I'd been perusing the 1 Iron GOlf website for 3 months and decided these were the clubs for me. The only obstacle was the shipping ($120USD) and customs/taxes to ship to New Zealand. I emailed Mr. Lake to inquire on this point and he told me that regardless if I bought a brand name set of golf clubs in New Zealand at a local golf store or ordered them directly from the USA I would still be charged the same shipping and duties. The only difference was that the local store would bury these costs in the sales price. Not fully believing this I priced a set of Callaway X-22 irons at three locations in New Zealand with the lowest price being $1,010 in USD. I also priced the same set in a number of golf outlets in the USA and the price was $700 USD. The golf stores in New Zealand were charging $310 USD more than the US stores do so Mr. Lake was more than correct on this point.

I ordered the Used/Demo complete set of 1 Irons plus the driver and received them in practically brand new condition. Of course I didn't read through the Playability Tips that came with my order but headed straight for the range. The clubs look and feel great but I didn't burn up the range on my initial outing. Afterwords I studied the Tips thoroughly and the next day went back to the range. This time things were better but I knew from the Tips that it would take a few trips to the practice range to really get my timing down plus get used to using the same swing and a center ball position with each club.

To make a long story short, after five range trips with no round of golf in-between everything began to fall into place. On the sixth trip it was like somebody flipped on the light switch and I was hitting the best shots of my life by far with every club. I am amazed how high I hit the #3 iron and still get 200 yards carry. A guy next to me at the range thought I was crushing a #5 iron based on the trajectory and when I showed him it was a #3 his jaw hit the ground. He hit a few shots with it and was in disbelief at his distance and shot height. He told me that he couldn't hit a regular #3 iron to save his life (btw - you'll be receiving his order shortly).

I want to thank you for a great product and fantastic customer service.

Franklin:
I did the same comparison shopping here and got the same results - buried shipping and taxes in the prices. I got the full set of 1 Irons also but my shipping charges were only $100USD (we're a little closer than you). In the end I saved a lot of money because my 1 Irons are the highest quality of any that I've ever played and I'm paying for this quality and not the "big name" on the club with their endorsement fees and so on buried in the price.

My results with the 1 Irons is almost exactly like yours and I couldn't be more pleased.

I was surprised at the $60 shipping charge on my 1-Irons (to Quebec) until I realized that it included the clearance and brokerage fees. I had ordered products from US companies before and had to pay $50 in clearance fees when UPS delivered the package. So I'm guessing that 1 Iron Golf is only charging $10-$15 in shipping and just collecting the clearance fees up-front.

I don't understand why anyone would think twice about international shipping rates, customs, duties, etc. when considering purchasing a set of 1 Irons. I've had mine for three years and I would gladly have paid three times the price for the enjoyment these clubs have given me. The finest clubs I've ever had in my bag and being a complete devotee to the 1 Iron Golf System has dropped my handicap by 12 strokes.

Am also from NZ and have had my 1 Irons for 3 years. A full division of marines couldn't get these clubs out of my hands.

I bought my set of 1 Irons because three of my golf buddies have been playing them for a couple of years and love them. I joined my buddies in the "love" category the first time I took my 1 Irons to the range.

I'll just say that any golfer who does not try the 1 Irons is making a big mistake. My handicap has gone down every month since I got them in May and I've never looked forward to my next round as much as I do now.

Agree, agree, agree! I priced a set of Callaways at the local shop and found that they were much more expensive than any US based store due to the shipping and import duties and taxes. Knowing this, the price of a set of 1 Irons becomes very attractive in comparison.

My irons were received in excellent condition and fit me perfectly. The feel is excellent and the quality is of the highest caliber. I know that my quest to shoot regularly in the 70s is going to be realized in a short time.

How many golf club companies supply playability tips with your clubs and a web site to talk to the owner of the company. Emails are answered same or next day and the customer service is first rate. Apart from all this the clubs fit you properly and are priced well compared to the so called name brand stuff.
