- Problem with 3 iron -- Randy Lyons (Bagger20), 10:07:45 02/16/12 Thu
After years, I finally purchased a demo set pw-3 iron. I have been playing with a frankenstein set, all the same length as my 9 iron, that I cut down for the past 2 years.
Needless to say my set had alot to be desired but I lowered
my handicap from 15 to 11.1 with it. So I took the next step and purchased a demo 1 iron set. I immediately hit the PW thru 4 iron very good without missing a beat but I have not been able to produce favorable results with the 3.
I hit the 3 iron extremely straight but low. I have used half swings on the range, alternated between 5 iron and 3 iron, closing my eyes while swinging and I even had a friend hand hand me different irons on the range to hit trying to trick myself but to no avail. Can anyone help?

The 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee that comes with them is a very nice feature and helped me to feel safer in my investment. I will hope to come back and give some periodic progress reports.

- Demo 1Irons -- Mike Dovey (Help), 21:29:50 02/10/12 Fri
The new 1Irons are brilliant. After a couple of sessions on the range and 18 holes yesterday I'm absolutely convinced I made the right decision to buy 1Iron clubs.
However I am noticing a tendency to push woods and long irons a bit right consistently. I've tried making some conventional adjustments but they are not working. Any ideas

- toe drop -- David, 11:36:20 01/04/12 Wed
I've been doing some reading and I noticed that the shaft will always bend (or bow) during the downswing, making the dynamic lie of the club more upright at impact versus at address.
I know the 1 iron shafts are proprietary and the clubs are assembled so that the head is "riding on rails". I was curious to know if the 63.5* static lie angle becomes, say, 64* at impact? How much difference, if any, is there between the lie at address and the lie at impact?
Note: I play 1 irons and love them. I was fitted for taylor made irons and was fitted to standard length, 2* upright (6 iron @ 64*)which was almost the exact spec of the 1 irons I have. The only slight difference being the lie angle, hence my curiosity about lie angle at impact vs. at address.

Clubs: 1 Iron's driver, 3-wood, 3-PW, GW, SW, and LW
Experience: 3 yrs
Original handicap: 22 (@ 2 months ago before 1 Iron clubs)
Present handicap: 10
I was just about ready to stop golfing before getting the 1 Irons clubs. Now, I want to play twice a week instead of once in a while. Golf has become a fun game ,and I might add, less expensive since not loosing golf balls like before switching to 1 Irons. This also allows me to use quality balls.
I do not understand why anybody would play with any other clubs than 1 Iron's clubs.

I can't believe that every golfer isn't playing 1 Irons. After many years of keeping the same handicap I switched to the 1 Irons and my handicap is consistently dropping. I started playing them 1 year ago and immediately I realized the potential. I was a 22 handicap at the time and have seen a 10 stroke drop in my average scoring. It just seems to get better with every round I play. For anybody out there who is sitting on the fence I just have one thing to say - buy these clubs!!

I hit my 1 Irons farther than my previous set of Pings and the accuracy is unbelievable. - Clearing the left hip -- Jerry Burke, 09:37:07 01/09/12 Mon
In an attempt to change my golf swing with my new 1 iron clubs I have read and re-read the swing tips. I am having trouble with rotating my torso around my hips and making a downswing without trying to clear my left hip. I have been taught that the downswing begins by the clearing of the left hip. The recommended swing tip seems to promote an upper body dominant backswing and downswing with little movement of the hips through impact. Am I interpreting things correctly?
Also, isn't the recommended swing going to promote a flatter single plane swing?

- W-T-F Wiggle Room? -- Lon, 20:59:21 12/31/11 Sat
Sorry if the question seems odd, I'm 72 and just started playing four months ago so everything golf is still fuzzy ...
It seems as if there could be some room for error when getting the W-T-F number. For example, getting into the standing straight/shoulders back/arms rigid position might result in varying postures depending on how an individual interprets military attention. Just putting the shoulders back would probably result in one person's arms ending up higher or lower than another's. For example, when I put my own shoulders back I tend to automatically raise them, so then I wonder should I lower my shoulders or not?
Also, one person's judgment of just where the base of the palm actually is might be different.
So where I'm going with this is: If this fuzziness results in me getting a set of clubs that is 1/4 inch off the ideal length, is it better for the clubs to be 1/4 inch too long or 1/4 inch too short?
For what it's worth, I'm 5' 5 1/2", very thin weigh about 120 lbs, and have very good flexibility for my age. I'm right at the double bogey level at this point.
Thank you.

Hello 1 iron golf readers, I'm 44 years old and I have been playing golf for approximately 5 years. I was once a 25+ hadicapp but am now a 15 hadicapp. I have used a older set of Cobra irons (Forged) and a all "hybrid" set 3-SW and I have been looking at the 1 iron clubs for about a year due to my deep desire to become a single digit or better golfer. I just purchased a 1 iron golf set 3-LW with a driver. I writing this to mention a couple of things. I have not unpacked all the the clubs yet but did take out the sandwedge to hit a couple of chip shots in the yard. WOW, they look "great" to the ground and practice swings feel as if the weight was made for me. I chips some balls and went as far as hitting some half and three quarter shots and the club performed so well. I feel more confident already even before I work with all the clubs. I will update this post after going to the range a couple of times or add a new one. They do look great and, can surely be mistaken as some name brand blades.

- Pros and the 1 Iron Golf System -- Reg, 10:49:32 11/15/11 Tue
I have been following the 1 Iron Golf website for the past year with my only concern being the lack of pros using this system. A few months ago I learned that Adam Scott's (PGA Tour) father plays 1 Iron Golf clubs and I heard that most pros have their clubs altered to single-length specs. I didn't really believe that the pros did this until I started watching very closely at their set-up and swing on TV which was identical no matter what iron they were using. I also attended a number of tour events this summer and took particular notice of the player's bags and saw that in most cases the irons all stuck out at the same height. Most noticeable was when I attended the US Senior Open and stood on a 200 yard par three where it was definitely evident that the #3 and #4 irons they were hitting were all about the same length as a normal #9 iron. The biggest shock to me was when I ate supper at the Ohio State Hall of Fame Grill in Columbus, Ohio. Next to a picture of Jack Nicklaus was a set of his old clubs and the irons were all exactly the same length.
I now play 1 Irons and quickly found out the reason why I could never get my handicap down using conventional clubs. With my 1 Irons my ball striking improved dramatically overnight and my average scoring has dropped by 10 strokes per round. I have no question that I will be in the low single-digits next summer.

An email that we received:
David,
I have been looking to buy a new set of clubs for 2-3 years now. I love the game, and grew up following my dad and my uncle around with a cut-off 7 iron when I was 6-7 years old. That was 50 years ago, and I have never had a set of clubs that matched. Recently I purchased a full set of 1 Iron Golf clubs, LW-5i, 7W,5W,3W,Driver. I've had the clubs a couple weeks, and gone to the range several times to get used to the "middle stance-upright posture" required to hit these clubs accurately.
Yesterday I played my first round of golf with them.
I hit every fairway with the driver or 3w. I hit driver - 3 Wood and was 5 feet off the green on a long par 5. I hit a 7 Wood 170 yards stiff to 12 feet on a par 3. I hit 10 of 18 greens in regulation. All of this on a course I had never played before (Bridlewood Gold Club, 4000 W. Windsor Drive, Flower Mound, TX).
I am ecstatic… beyond words. I have been looking for clubs that would take me to the next level in my game, and I have finally found them.
Worth the investment? No question.

- 1 Irons at Golf School -- Paul, 05:00:07 11/17/11 Thu
I just returned from one of the top 25 golf schools in America. It was a 3 day school and part of the course was club evaluation and fitting. The PGA pros had heard of the 1 Irons but had no experience with them. Over the course of the first 2 days the teacher, who was excellent, determined my ideal club fitting specs, right down to the frequency of the shafts that worked best for me. Long story short, the 1 Irons fit the recommended specs EXACTLY. I even watched as he placed each one on the gadget that measures shaft frequency. Each club was right on. Even the shaft frequency of the 1 Iron woods was exactly right. Although I will have to say he was not a fan of the Driver. It weighed in considerably heavier than other graphite 460cc Drivers and he wasn't particularly fond of that. But, I hit it well and more consistently. In the end he just said, "I can't say anything bad about your clubs."

- All the Hype -- Paul, 09:26:12 11/11/11 Fri
I got my 1 irons in the mail yesterday (Driver, 3W, 5W, 7W, 5 Iron - PW, GW, SW, LW). The clubs have really great looks, feel, and balance. I love the oversize grips. But all that doesn't matter if they don't perform. Went to the range this morning. Started with the 8 iron, just like David suggests. I have to admit I struggled some, mainly due to figuring out how far to stand from the ball with these clubs. I finally figured out you have to stand much closer to the ball than I was accustomed to. Once I got that part figured out. I was amazed how consistently I could make solid contact with the ball. I decided to try a few with the driver. I was having trouble getting it up. Then I remembered the tip about tilting the spine to the right. I did that and it worked. With the ball center of stance I could hit the ball high and pretty much straight. As far as the fairway woods, the same spine tilt works great to get them up as well. The 7W is probably my ffavorite club in the whole set. I can smoke it. Bottom line: What about all the hype you read about these clubs? BELIEVE IT! These clubs do make a difference. They will help you hit the ball better. I have only made one trip tp the range and I already hit the 1 irons better than my old clubs.

I want to start by saying that the concept makes sense to me, the golfer who likes to have fun and is yet to break 100.
What throws me off is the lack of any negative feedback. It reminds me of the saying if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. I can understand why there wouldn't be much negative feedback on this site, but why not anywhere on the internet?
I work at a private golf course in Southern California. I've spoken with all the PGA Pros here and they all have the same reaction; they think that the low irons would work fine but that the higher irons just wouldn't work well.

This is standard instruction from just about everyone. Any reason to change that for the 1 irons. I understand ball is center of stance.

- Lower handicap players -- Muc, 10:08:42 11/01/11 Tue
Hello,
Hey guys, I was just wondering if there are players with a lower handicap using 1 iron. Like maybe single digit handicap players. I am currently a 5.1 handicap..2 years ago I was a solid 12. Now I realize that I have made huge progress lowering my handicap. But I still feel my game suffers tremendously with a 4, 5, 6, and hybrids. I never seem to make solid contact. I am 5'6 and would be considered a "sweeper". Nothing I can do makes me hit down on the ball better. I will say that if it wasn't for a really straight driver and the fact that I hit my wedges awesome, I would of never improved my handicap. This is why I am asking if lower handicap people use 1 iron golf clubs. I think I could benefit from my lower and mid irons same length of my wedges.
Oh yah, I was shown 1 iron golf from 'the swingman' web site.
Cheers,

- Fantastic -- Henry, 22:36:20 10/13/11 Thu
After one year of following the 1 Iron Golf website I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a set of Used/Demo irons plus all of the wedges. The discounted price on the set of irons plus the free shipping, since I live in the UK, were the deciding factors. I was wrong - I wish now that I had ordered them ten years ago and I would have gladly paid twice the price.
Since I am getting into my advanced years I was looking at consistency and control. Imagine my shock when I hit these irons five yards further than my Pings with much more accuracy! My distance game with the 1 Irons has effectively made me twenty years younger.
I cannot say enough about the quality of workmanship and the obvious design integrity of these irons. From the first day I was hitting the shots of my life and my first round produced the lowest score I have ever achieved.
I will admit that I have succumbed in the past to the multi-million dollar advertising campaigns of the big name brands as I have typically purchased new sets of clubs every three years or so trying to buy a good golf game. I can say with perfect honesty that I will never have to spend another shilling on golf clubs since I have found the perfect set - 1 Irons.
My advice is this - if you are sitting on the fence like I was then do yourself a huge favor and buy a set of 1 Irons immediately and watch your scores drop.

I have asked this question before, any chance of a 1iron Golf instruction video. There is so much good advice, a DVD would be a great idea.
I think the forum is great but needs some updating.
Its amazing, since I started playing the single length irons from the first Maltby design to the current ones, I am older, don't swing as fast, play less and less but scoring better than ever. Playing once every 2-3 weeks if I get lucky I can still shoot under 85, I drive the younger kids who bomb the ball crazy.
I feel like I just hop toward the greens, I guess the younger kids feel they have to rocket one on the green with the driver on every hole.

- Getting Better Results Now -- Thomas Sawatzki, 14:07:09 10/11/11 Tue
I've had my 1IronGolf Set ( D,3W,5W,7W & the 5i-PW,GW,SW ) for about 1 yr. now. We are getting used to each other finally, and the hoped for better results are being realized. As a background .. I don't get to practice , so I go play 9 holes whenever the chance .. a " cold " effort. Usually, the 1st 3 or 4 holes are a tune-up scorewise.. but not too bad at that.
Lately, tho , and happily, the final 6 holes have been a mild thrill. This bogie-shooter has been nearer to par through the closing 6 holes. WHY ? These 1IronGolf sticks are more accurate.
My driving is better - in the fairway mostly, and less " over there " now; iron shots more so find the green ,much less of any curve away fading. And .. a nice surprise has been that even the fairway woods have been pin-point accurate into the green , and with good spin and " bite " as well -- not their thing -- but it is happening. I've been short power-wise this year , but the better precision shot-making has been telling.
The overall balance of these clubs really helps now that " we are used to each other ". I can now really appreciate the superior shafting system and the results that this can produce.
Jeezz ... these are good sticks people. Mr.Lake did a fine piece of golf club engineering , and his theories have validity. At least my game thinks so. I say thanks to all involved at 1Iron Golf. Great clubs ... well worth the money.

- Got My third set of 1irons -- Pedro, 04:20:00 09/18/11 Sun
Hello all 1iron players, I got my third set of 1irons this weekend, So I have been playing 1irons since David first came out with his first design.
A few months ago The airlines lost my baggage and yes my 1iron clubs. Well in the interum I had no choice but to play my OE irons which were in the basement, I use them for friends who may come over.
Well I played yesterday and felt lke I did not miss a beat. after a short range session, It clicked with 20 balls. Off to play and accurate as always. The new part for me was the 1iron driver, I had used the smaller head driver David offered years ago, The new one is just as playable with a nice Piercing ball trajectory.
Dont let the 12o fool you, you wont be hitting it like a 7 wood. The loft and length it what allows you to get the correct trajectory. Center center center stance, trust it it will work. I hooked up with a few guys and all of them sporting their nice expensive taylormade and callaway drivers. Then little old me with my short driver down the middle 245-260 I can carry only 250 at my best but the correct trajectory and role give you the optimum results for me.
I was driving the other two guys crazy becaues they killed the ball just not on the course, finaly one of them gave in and asked me about my driver? he asked to try it. and holly molly he killed it 285 down the middle, them the other guy got into the act he tried it bam down the middle with a power faid about 270, both out drove me by at least 30 yards, They were stunned, after the round we sat down got some drinks and I explained to them the idea and about the irons. They couldnt believe how the industry has lied to so many players for so many years.
Just as a note I use to work at a major golf shop, I could not push the junk they wanted me to anymore. so I left and am enjoying golf ever since.
I am older now at 45 and dont hit it as far as I used to, But my accuracy and common sense play make me competative even after a lay off.
If you are on the edge, just try it you have a 30 gurantee you cant go wrong, just follow the playability tips and just dont go rushing to the course.

An email we received:
Mr. Lake,
I went into Goldsmith today and dropped off my set of 1 Irons to be re-gripped. The club maker was quite curious and said: "don't tell anyone I said this, but there isn't a single club in this store that can perform like your irons”. He said he knows all about 1 Iron Golf. He placed each iron on a scale, a measuring device, and a protractor and said to me that it’s damn near impossible to get clubs consistent like this. He said that Ping was the only club manufacturer that could reliably come close to what you make. I thought you might find that of interest.

Just like David said, I had to hit every club 3i - LW. Out of all the clubs I hit the 3i the best (go figure). By the end of the 1st bucket of ball really started to hit some great shots.
I had to really make an effort to keep the ball in the center of my stance. This is going to take some getting use too!
I will keep you posted on my progress

- iron clubs -- Simon (these clubs are great), 16:32:15 08/26/11 Fri
I was a bit hesitant to purchase the clubs unseen but believed in the concept as even before finding the website for the clubs thought one length clubs made sense.
After purchasing the clubs and having a wack at the range I found that after a couple of trips to the range my swing had changed and become more consistent resulting in hitting the ball with a greater accuracy than before.
In regards to distance and distance between clubs I found I was hitting the ball further and where I wanted the ball to go. I was hitting an 8 iron about 150m whereas I used to hit an 8 iron around 135 -140m, the range in distance between clubs is the same but a I hit each club further now, this was one of my concerns that I there wouldnt be enough distance variance between clubs but I found that it is the same as conventional clubs. The biggest improvement I found was longer irons I now hit a 3 iron between 190-200m with accuracy at the target.
The woods are the same I am hitting the 3 wood about 220m and the driver about 280m.
It is so simple to produce a consistent accurate golf shot with the desired distance aas it is one swing one ball position over and over again so no need to clutter the mind with anything other than where you want to hit the ball it is simplified stress free golf with great results.
I wish I had a set of these clubs years ago they are a revolution to my golf game, every time I use them they feel better and better and better I cannot be more satisfied with every aspect of the clubs - the look/the feel/the grips/the weight and how easy it is to strike the ball and acheive the best results regarding distance and accuracy. As recommendended I didnt have a round of golf until I got used to the clubs and the difference on the course was amazing. I used to hit the ball a fair way but had no accuracy and ended up under trees/other fairways off the tee and struggled to post a good score. With these clubs I now hit it further but with accuracy resulting in shaving huge nubers off my scores.
Thanks 1 iron golf,as the saying goes golf ruins a good walk well I could attest to that frustration but now I attest to golf makes a good walk even better.
Regards
Simon

- 1 Irons -- Satisfied customer, 07:06:43 08/03/11 Wed
Are you sure you sent me a demo set looks like new? The quality and looks are the best I have seen went out and hit as soon as I got them they feel like forged clubs crisp coming off club face hit #8 then #5 then #3 I hit them all good. Had little trouble with GW, SW, and LW but got it down pretty quick played 18 holes and shot 39 on front hitting wedges a little fat. On the back nine I shot a 38 getting wedges down better. As far as distance loss, there is none. I gained yardage with every club the best thing all shots on target. With my old #3 iron I struggled to hit it 210 yards. With you #3 iron I hit 225 yards easy and dead at flag. My only regret is that I wish I had got them last year when I first started looking at them

I am a satified user of the "1irons" for 2 years. The accuracy is incredible. I am not a long hitter (5 iron - 150 yds), and was wondering if increasing my shaft length by about 1/2" would improve my distance slightly. Any ideas on this?
Thanks,

- Grip Down -- Ken, 17:38:00 07/22/11 Fri
I have been using 1Irons for a few years - and this is not about the clubs. But almost every issue of a golf magazine has an instruction article that says to "grip down" an amount on the club. Seems to me that once one grips down, they have changed the whole dynamic of the swing, haveing to get closer to the ground- and that just doesn't make sense as a better way to hit the occasional shot. Anyone else feel this way?

- At first blush -- Fred (optomistic), 18:39:09 07/20/11 Wed
Received clubs today. Dinner and off to the range with 8,7,and 6. Small bucket(50-60). No way they are going back. Feel great, look good, nice grips.
Hope the below is clear enough
50% 8 iron, 25% each with the 7 and 6.Only 5 or 6 real bad mishit evenly split
8 iron= 150-155, 50% straight&sweet, balance of the ball were good/decent contact but pushed right
7=160-165 25% straight&sweet, pushing the rest right, good/decent contact
6=170-175 same results as 7
Read on and you'll understand why I am super happy with the above!
Virtually quit golf (Im 56) till I saw these on line. All the theory made perfect sense, logical. At my best low/mid 90's(lifetime ago). Last 20 yrs a 110-115 rarely play hacker. This could now be interesting!
Last time to the range/club in hand, was a year ago,out of town, borrowed clubs, 90% mishits.
Last time playing was at least 4 years ago, time before that probably 2 yrs.
Going to try and grove a swing...a SINGLE swing. BTW 3 wood is 5" longer than irons...feels nice in hand(no drivers in stock, couldn't buy). Bought 3-PW,+SW, +3wood.
I'll check in end of summer.

- Playing my new clubs -- John Mayo (Less confused), 15:56:43 07/07/11 Thu
I have been playing 1iron clubs (3-lw and 3wood, driver) for about 4months. It has taken a while to get used to them. I was concerned that being 76 yrs old and playing graphite shafts for several years now that I would have trouble with the weight. With patience and reading the comments form David, I now feel quite comfortable with the clubs and find that I am more consistent and worry less about a multitude of details involving swinging different length clubs. This has freed me up to work on a more grooved swing, a swing that I can trust more and a swing that I can put much more channeled power into. The driver has become an absolute jewel. It is straight and getting longer all the time. The long irons are perhaps a little off in distance, but distance left to the hole is less because it is usually in the fairway. I have adjusted to the weight and find (like David says) that my body reacts much better to the weight distribution. It feels more like a natural swing. The interesting thing is that I have not told my playing partners that I have new clubs (except the driver) and not one has noticed except that I am playing better. I plan to inform them soon. Great clubs, they do what David says they will and they make my game much more pleasant and less complicated. At 76, that less complicated thing is very important.

I have been to the driving range three times so far working thru all the irons and with each trip more and more shots are solid strikes. What would go through my mind is that each swing is practice for the next shot no matter what number is on the bottom of the club. The clubs put you in the right set up but being that little bit closer to the ball took some getting used to with all the clubs. They just feel right and i look forward to not worry over which club I need to hit. The look, feel and quailty of the 1 irons make them worth every penny. I am going to spread the message of common sense 1 iron golf.

- An email we received today: -- David Lake, 08:01:52 06/27/11 Mon
Hello David,
I have to say it's taken me a good 3-4 months to get a swing down for these clubs. I even took a few lessons and did a video analysis on my swing. With a lot of practice and determination, I am now hitting my clubs further than I have ever imagined. For example, my 7 iron has always been a 135-140 yard club. Even in my 20's I could hit the 7 iron 140 pretty regularly. When I started swinging the 1 Iron 7 iron, I could not hit the ball more than 100 yards. It was very frustrating and I wanted to just quit and by a new set of clubs. However, the arrow was not the problem, the Indian was in this case. My teaching pro actually recommended that I switch because I was having so much difficulty.
Prior to me owning the set from you I shot about a 100-105 on a regular basis. Fast forward three months; I can now hit my 7 iron 150-155 yards and drop it in a bucket. I hardly take any kind of a divot, more like a brushing of the grass. In perspective, once you get used to these clubs there is no, I repeat, no substitute.
Today I played 9 holes and shot a 39, the best score of my career. I consistently shoot 82-85 and enjoy near par golf. Now you may have thought at first that it was taking long to get used to the clubs, however, compare that to dropping down nearly 20 strokes and becoming a 10 handicap in three months. I am in the 1 Iron groove and will never ever let go of my 1 Iron clubs. Bravo, David!

- 1 Irons -- Chuck, 11:55:38 06/21/11 Tue
I found your website by accident and I read through it with extreme skepticism even though it made so much sense. After a few days of reading I ordered a full set of irons (#3 - LW) plus driver and #3 wood (all new because I was sure I'd be returning them within the 30-day return period). I'm here to tell you that there's not a chance that you will be getting these clubs back. I'm amazed that hitting a golf ball can be so easy after all the years of frustration I've gone through and all the different sets I've bought. I only wish that I'd have found your website ten years ago and not wasted all that time playing big brand name junk.

Mr. Lake:
I purchase a full set of your clubs three weeks ago. The order was delivered promptly and very securely packaged. They are beautiful clubs and the pictures on your website do not do them justice. Also, the quality is very high.
I followed the outlined practice schedule that you emailed to me (Playability Tips) and became very comfortable with them in only three trips to the range. I've played eight rounds since then and have shot the lowest scores of my life. I've gained around five yards in distance per club over my old set and the accuracy is unbelievable.
I want to thank you for the best set of clubs ever offered to golfers and I hope that others will take the chance to experience what I have.

- First Session With NEw Clubs -- Mark Devlin, 06:44:35 05/20/11 Fri
New England just can't catch a break in the weather department but I couldn't wait any longer. I went out in a slight mist to a local 9 hole because a knew I would have the course to myself to practice. I hit about 50 shots with the 5 iron. I have to say that David is spot on when he tells you to " Swing in a Barrel". My 1st couple of shots were straight but short but as I started to keep repeating in my head "Swing in a Barrel" I started getting a mix of short shots and perfect shots. Since I could never hit a normal 5 iron I am thrilled with these clubs. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend for a real long practice session. I'll keep the updates coming.
Thanks David

Folks at 1 Iron Golf,
I just wanted to thank you for the best set of clubs I've ever played. I got the driver, #3 wood and the #3 iron through LW. I followed the Playability Tips that you sent precisely and had no trouble becoming acclimated to single-length play quickly. I've easily gained 5 yards per club over my old set and the trajectory and accuracy are something you have to experience to believe. I've already shot the best round of my life.
Now that my eyes have been opened I can't believe the outright lies that the golf industry has shoved down our throats over the years in order to sell their "standard" golf clubs. I think you explain this very well in your swing tips: http://www.1irongolf.com/index_files/golftips18.htm
Anyway, I plan to be the chief spokesman for your clubs and concept from now on.

David,
Tried your "wrist" putting technique. Your logic is right on the mark. Less muscle involvement equals less opportunity to make a mistake. I have struggled for years with putting and this is the first method that actually makes me more confident over the ball. Sounds exactly like the result I've achieved using your single length irons, doesn't it?
Thanks for the quick turnaround on my wedge exchange.

- First time results using the new 1irons -- Grant (Happy), 22:03:13 04/17/11 Sun
I wanted to get the 1irons for the past year. I ordered them the first of last week and they came on Friday. Guess what? It started raining about noon and didn't quit until Saturday evening. Today (Sunday) was the first chance to get out even though it was still wet and muddy in places.
From the moment I got the first club in my hand when I opened the package I loved the look and especially the feel. The club just felt "right" and the grips are very comfortable. The lie of the club was perfect too and not at all like my X16 Callaway Steelheads. I have been using them for about 10 years and have never been able to really hit anything less lofted than the 7 iron with any consistency. I just took the 3 and 4 out of the bag and left them home.
Started with the PW and the 5 iron. Even thought the PW is quite a bit longer than my old one, it was really easy to hit and ball contact and results were as if I had been using it for years. Different story with the 5 iron though!
I just automatically tried to swing a lot harder with it. You know what they say...Knew better. Didn't do better!! Next swing was done right and after that hitting all the clubs including the 5 and 7 woods was easy.
Now I have to order the Driver, the 3 and 4 irons and the gap and sand wedge!! These are great golf clubs!

- Looking for feedback from low handicap players -- Thomas (Skeptical optimist), 11:25:07 04/02/10 Fri
I do believe that the standard length/lie concept is very interesting and I am looking for feedback from low handicap players that have tried this. I used to be a 4, now I am a 7 handicap, mostly due to a deteriorated short game. I do struggle from time to time with the long irons and since the 7 or 8 iron is probably my favorite club, I am intrigued with the standard length concept. However, my concern is that I will struggle to adjust with my scoring clubs (PW through LW) due to the increased length of those relative to my current (standard length) clubs. Also, I was looking to possibly switch to blades e.g. Mizuno for their increased feel/ability to work the ball and I am wondering if anyone has any experience with comparing such blades with the 1 Iron Golf irons, particularly the wedges.
Appreciate any feedback that anyone can provide me with.
Regards,
Thomas

- Unbelievable!! -- Ron Jackson, 19:11:45 03/31/11 Thu
I received my Used/Demo set of irons plus all of the wedges and #3 wood last week. First of all, the Used/Demo irons looked brand new to me. The high level of design and workmanship was immediately apparent and the clubs feel like they belong in my hands. The balance and feel are truly fantastic, far better than any I have ever played.
On my first trip to the range I followed the Playability Tips that were emailed to me using half swings to get the feel and timing down. On the second day I exceeded the Tips and hit full shots with every club. The #3 wood was like hitting butter and all of the shots flew about 10 yards farther than my Ping #3 wood. The irons took some getting used to since I had to learn to hit the #3 iron with the same swing I was using with the #8 and #9 iron and wedges (my irons are #8 iron length). It sounds simple but I can attest to the fact that it's hard to swing an iron with #3 written on the bottom the same as you swing with your #8 iron. It took me half a bucket to mentally get past this and when I did I started nailing the #3 iron like a pro. I estimate my distance with the #3 iron at 200 yards carry which is 10 to 12 yards farther than my Ping #3 when I nail it (not very often). I hit 30 balls with both the #3 and #4 and didn't have a single miss-hit. I hit all of the irons and wedges with the same consistency and averaged about 5 yards extra distance with each one.
I'm extremely impressed to say the least and glad I made the leap. I wish that I'd done this a few years earlier.

David,
Thanks for the quick delivery of my THIRD set of 1irons. Hopefully no other family members will be begging them from me. My regular foursome now has 3 sets of 1irons in it. As a loyal customer since 2006, I have seen my handicap drop from 16 to 8 since I purchased my first set. I was runner up in our club championship in 2009, and finished 3rd last year. My goal is to win it this year, and the confidence that your clubs give me is the key. I really believe you are a golf genius.

David,
Thank you so much for the swing tips on your website. After reading them through and going back to study particulars I made the changes to my swing that you suggested: hitting down on the ball, swinging the club around me instead of out to the side, etc. By incorporating these I picked up 20 yards with every one of my irons (I previously sweeped/scooped the ball without even realizing it). I also want to thank you for the best set of golf clubs I've ever owned.

- Fantastic -- John, 09:38:48 02/17/11 Thu
I recently purchased a full set of 1 Iron Golf clubs (driver, #3 wood and #3 iron to LW). I was immediately impressed by the high quality of the clubs, looks, and feel. They fit me perfectly and felt like an extension of my arms which I guess is a common feeling for all 1 Iron owners (they have their fitting system down pat). Just as the Playability Tips that I received explains, it felt strange the first time at the range. My irons are all #8 iron length (coincidentally my favorite iron) and I knew that I was supposed to put my #8 iron swing on every iron which is easy to say until you pick up an iron with a #3 written on the bottom (those old ingrained swings). It took me three trips to mentally get past this and actually use the same swing and ball position with every iron, but once it happened - WOW!! I've never hit shots like this in my life with any set of clubs and to say that I'm impressed and totally excited would be a gross understatement.
I can't believe all of the garbage and marketing hype out there when it comes to golf clubs. The new and improved crap that you see advertised by all the brands is obviously nothing more than trash designed to lure guys like me into trying to buy a game year after year (I'm guilty as charged). Anyway, it makes me furious that I'd been suckered by this my whole life and now I bought the 1 Iron Golf set that is so simple and hype free and that made so much common sense I had to try it. Needless to say I'm immensely glad I did and will never go back to the conventional junk again. I'm also canceling all my subscriptions to golf magazines that do nothing but promote worthless golf equipment and then try to teach you how to use it. My 1 Irons don't need instruction - their automatic.

- Email from a customer -- David Lake, 10:35:58 12/22/10 Wed
An email we received recently:
You may be interested in my golf story. I last played golf in 1973 when my handicap was 2. Wooden Woods with a stiff shaft and blade irons. About a year ago I was able to start playing golf again. I used my old clubs to begin with and when I felt I was hitting the ball reasonably well again I thought I should avail myself of the latest technology. What a mistake. I was fitted (in more ways than one) with a set of Taylormade Burners. I could not hit the driver as far as I could my old wooden 2 wood and as for the irons they were a disaster, no feel or control the club head just took over.
This lead me to start an internet search for modern clubs that resembled my old blades and I discovered 1 Iron Golf. Your whole thesis made so much sense I purchased a set of irons and woods. Absolutely brilliant! I feel that I now control the club. I always had a high trajectory with my irons and I find I achieve the same distances with the short and mid irons however the 4 and 3 irons are flying about 10 yards further than my old ones. The 3 iron flying 200 yards whereas in the old days I needed a 2 iron to achieve this distance.
Here I am hitting the ball the same distance with control in my 60s as I did as a young man. Who says one needs a longer shaft to hit the ball further.
Thank you for providing me with the tools to enjoy playing golf again.
Kind regards,
J.C.

- Great irons -- Derrick - Australia, 13:12:49 11/27/10 Sat
I took advantage of 1 Iron Golf's current free shipping promotion and bought a full set of irons (#3 though LW) plus a #3 wood and driver. I got the Used/Demo set for $275 off the regular price and ended up saving about $405 with that and the free shipping. The clubs arrived in about 1 week and were in excellent condition. The high quality is the first thing you notice and they feel great.
I read some posts where it took a week or so to get used to using the same swing and so forth, but I hit all of the clubs great on the first trip to the range. I immediately picked up a few extra yards with all of the irons over my set of Callaways and I'm confident that after a few more range trips this will increase even more. These are the most accurate clubs I've ever played in my 45+ years of golfing and the ball just zings off of the clubface.
After only a couple of trips to the range I can truly say that I'll never go back to conventional irons again.

- Glad I waited -- Greg, 16:24:56 11/01/10 Mon
I had my 1 Irons for about three weeks and still found after quite a few trips to the range that I was still losing distance with them. I emailed my concerns a few times to Mr. Lake who was more than generous with his time and effort in answering all of my questions and providing insight.
I was just about to return the clubs under their 30-day return policy when out of the blue everything fell into place. Mr. Lake told me that it would if I followed the Playability Tips and just gave them time but I didn't expect how sudden and dramatic the change would be. It was like somebody waved a magic wand and I started hitting great shots with all the clubs. I've gained about five yards in distance with all the irons over what I'm used to and the crisp ball striking is something you have to experience to believe.
My advice to anyone who is initially struggling with the clubs is to keep at it because the fault is the ten or so different swings and ball positions that you've ingrained over the years and not the clubs. Just like me, it takes time and patience but in the end it will click and you'll be amazed. I'll honestly say that if you can't play and excel with these clubs you should find another sport.

- 3 and 4 irons -- Walt, 13:58:48 11/04/10 Thu
I hit the 5 thru Lob Wedge and Driver, 5 and 3-wood better than I have ever hit any clubs in my life. I was concerned that I was not developing enough clubhead speed to use the 3 and 4 iron. David Lake advised me to keep working on it and I would like them as much as the rest. Man, was he ever right. Once I stopped swinging them with all my might and just took the same swing that I would use with a 9-iron, everything fell into place. Fifty years of misguided effort is hard to unlearn but I am getting there thanks to these clubs. I used the same practice routine that David suggested for my 3-wood. I selected the iron that I liked to hit the best (which was all the other irons 5-LW) and alternated hitting my 3-iron with let's say the 7-iron. Same swing, same effort (effortless) and in no time I was hitting that 3-iron better than any 3-iron I have ever tried before.
These clubs WILL work as long as I can keep the stuff between my ears under control. Thank you, David.

I was ready to send it back until I talked to you about the fact that I could not hit it as well as the 5-wood. Took your advice and alternately hit the 5 and 3 wood. Within an hour on the range I was hitting the 3-wood as well as the 5. Went to the course and hit the 3 as far as I used to hit my old driver. Don't think I'll be sending this club back. Let's see if I can do it more than one day in a row...... Thank you!

I purchased my set of 1-Irons fully intending to switch out the shafts for an extra-stiff flex True Temper shaft because my swing speed is so high. After one trip to the range I found that the shafting that 1 Iron Golf uses is magical. I just can't believe that all of the shafting garbage that I've heard over the past 30 years is just that - garbage! 1 Iron Golf has developed a method of shafting that blows me completely away because it works great for anybody with any swing speed. I know first hand because I bought a set for my wife and she kills the ball and loves the clubs using the same shaft that I have in mine. Like 1-Iron says, it's in the golf club balance and nothing more. By the way, I'm a 6 handicap and going down with my 1-Irons.

- New clubs -- Sam, 09:51:24 10/20/10 Wed
I received my new set of 1 Irons yesterday (#3 iron through LW; plus #3 wood and driver) and took them to the range last evening. Since I'd read a number of posts where it took some time getting used to the clubs I found that I could hit them great immediately. It's hard to imagine that you can hit a #3 iron built to the length of a #9 iron as far as a conventional #3 iron but, in fact, I hit my new #3 iron about 10 yards farther then I've ever been able to hit one. Plus I never miss-hit it in 30 shots.
I've had the clubs for two days now and can say with 100% certainty that I've been wasting my time for over 40 years playing conventional golf clubs. I know that my game will improve dramatically over the next couple of months. Thank you Mr. Lake for an outstanding set of golf clubs and for fighting the established golf industry.

- 1Irongolf Journey Continues -- James B. McAdams, 20:14:10 10/24/10 Sun
Well the 1Irongolf Journey Continoues with me today going to the driving range with my 1Iron Driver. It feels so balanced, good feel & well made. The first time I hit it, it went sraight down the pipe, no hook or slice. It was about 250 yds. on the 1st hit, unblievable. The second one hit was down the pipe & straight. The third time I hit it, was down the pipe again & straight. The fifth time I flubbed it with a poor hit. The sixth time I was smoking it down the middle being straight & far. I kept on hitting it for about ten more balls & they were down the pipe, straight & out there around 250 yds. I am very happy with this new driver & looking forward to get my #3 wood & #5 wood to complete my set. Thanks, David for building these fine clubs & keep up the great work you are doing. James.

- This lady golfer loves her new 1irons! -- Debra, 16:34:52 09/25/10 Sat
My set of irons and woods arrived yesterday, and I immediately took them to the driving range. I worked with the 8 iron as the playability tips said, and had a few really great shots among many errant shots. But I was expecting that the first time out. Most of my bad shots were because I was topping the ball - something I hadn't done in a long time. Went back today with headphones as suggested somewhere in the website, and it was great. You really can't overthink while listening to music, and my body really does know what to do all by itself. I worked up to the longest iron in the set and I know that these clubs will work for me. I had a really good instructor who taught me to use a "ball in the center of your stance" for everything except the driver, so hitting a five iron that way was not a problem for me.
I had been hesitant to order these clubs because of the steel shafts, but that is not a problem. Unlike other clubs with steel shafts I had tried, there was no vibration or stinging with these. They are a little heavier than what I have been using, but the feel of striking the ball properly with them is truly great and I can get used to that. When I unpacked them I thought the grips were way too big, as I have very small hands, but they just feel good.
Thanks for making such great equipment, and also for the newsletter articles. I have started using the "wrist putting" technique, and it is so much easier than what I was taught. I'm making more and longer putts, and what I don't make are a lot better misses than I've ever had before. I've also started using my 8 iron for chipping and pitching and it is such a pleasure to get really crisp, consistent shots with it (says the person who before was at least the runner-up for the worst chipper/pitcher on the planet). I look forward to a couple more range sessions to conquer the fairway woods and then going to the course for some real fun.

- Driver -- Walt, 08:27:22 09/01/10 Wed
David,
I talked to you about the 30-day refund policy for the driver I just ordered. It arrived yesterday and I carefully taped the head to prevent any scratches so that when I sent it back it would be in perfect condition...... To make a long story short, I will not be sending it back. You could not pry it away from me with the jaws of life. Check this out:
1. I did not try to change my setup or swing at all. Just used my old setup and swing.
2. Straight drives on the range during warm-up, then I went out on the course in the evening.
3. Straight drives that were about the same length as my best drives with my old driver.
4. After the first nine holes, I started to take full swings just to see what would happen.
5. I hit several straight drives through the dogleg of fairways that I used to have trouble reaching.
6. Then, and this was the capper, I FLEW the bunkers that I usually cannot reach on the last two holes that I played. The last drive being the longest, straightest drive I have ever hit in my life.
I got in my cart and out of there before I was tempted to start swinging out of my shoes in an attempt to better that last drive.
Thanks, you were right about that driver.
Walt

- Fairway Woods -- Debra, 17:10:45 10/06/10 Wed
I've had my new clubs for a couple of weeks now and have been able to get to the range with them several times and the course with them a few times. I still love them, and they are bringing the joy back to the game.
I ordered the set with the 5 and 7 fairway woods and 5 through PW because I do have a slower swing speed. I am hitting the irons and 7 wood well, but I'm really struggling with the 5 wood. I end up hitting the 7 wood well about 95% of the time and the 5 wood well about 25% of the time. The length of the two clubs is the same, so the only difference I can see is that the 5 wood head is a little bigger. With the 5 wood, I either top the ball or hit way behind it and dig a crater in the earth. I think the problem may be "between the ears" as I have always struggled with fairway woods, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

I received my set of irons and it took no time at all to adjust to the
swing. I immediately saw results, saving 3-4 strokes per round. I then
ordered and received my 3 wood which I have been using off the tee. I've spent time at the range and on the course with the new equipment.
Today I played a round of 9 holes at a course that I typically would
shoot between 45-48 for the 9. I shot a 38 (3 over)...the best round
I've had so far.
Thanks for a great set of clubs. I will be ordering my wedge and driver
shortly!

I've been to the range twice with my new 1 Irons and they are by far the best irons I've ever played. They're well balanced and smooth as silk. Very solid when striking the ball and distance is about 5 yards farther than my Taylor-Mades. I hit 80 balls at my first and second range trip and only miss-hit about 5 shots each time. Consistent ball striking is a big plus with these irons.

Went to the range with my #3 iron following the playability tips that I received and began hitting shots that bounced off the clouds and seemed to fly forever. I was probably averaging around 200 yards carry and straight down the pike. I've never hit irons this well and a #3 iron to boot!! Will hit all the rest of the irons tomorrow and can't wait until my first round.

I've had the irons for exactly one month and you will never get them out of my hands. From the day I got them I was impressed with the quality and feel of them and the performance is truly unbelievable. I still can't believe that I'm hitting a gap wedge length #3 iron farther than my old "long" one and never miss-hit it. Thanks for making a believer out of me and helping me play better than ever.

- 1 Iron Success in League Play -- Michael, 15:07:53 06/22/10 Tue
I play in a 9 hole league on Tuesday mornings. I have had several causal rounds under par, but today I posted my first sub par round in league play.
I started out par, par, par. I birdied the next two holes. I finished with a par, par, bogey, and par for a score of 1 under.
I won two skins for the birdies, and I posted the lowest gross score.
I can honestly say that I would not be playing this well if not for my 1 Irons. I love the consistent set up position, which makes my iron play so easy.
When other players hit driver or three wood, I am hitting 3 or 4 iron. Why? It's not just that I am playing safe. I know the precise distance that each of my clubs will travel, because my swing has been grooved by my consistent set up. Usually I am hitting my second shot from the fairway about the same distance to the green as "driver guy." The main difference is that I am in the fairway, and he is in the scruff. Knowing where the ball will end up before I swing sure has made the game more enjoyable for me.
I do not know why anyone would want to play clubs other than 1 Irons. I honestly don't.

A lot of people have asked me, how do you get the ball so high and still so far. I can only say " it's the 1 Irons".
My quistion is. Why do I get so high trajectory and still a great distance with the 1 Irons?

My order was delivered this past Saturday (Used/Demo set of irons) and I was immediately impressed by their looks and high quality. I went to the range on both Sunday and Monday following the outline in the Playability Tips that you emailed to me. I can honestly say that I've never played irons as good as these in my entire life. For the first time I feel completely comfortable hitting the #3 and #4 irons - long and straight. I'm going to give my old hybrids to my brother-in-law since I don't need them anymore. All of the irons are about 5 yards farther than my Callaways and I hit every one of them perfectly.
I was skeptical when I first read your website since I'm shorter in height than average and 65 years old. But you've made a true believer out of me in only two days.

I went on a long weekend golf trip this past weekend in Northern Arizona. I played 3 rounds with my 1 irons, my 1 iron driver and my new 1 iron 3 wood. I was very surprized. I hit my driver high and long and very straight. I was aiming way away from bunkers and hazards and found I didn't need to. I can aim just left or right of the bunker and miss it! Hooray! I hit my 1 iron driver at least as far as my Taylormade Burner if not farther. I believe I was hitting the 3 wood longer than my Taylormade 3 wood.
My golfing partner is about a 6 handicap and I asked him to hit the 6 iron on one Par 3 he hit his 6 iron on. It was agbout 180 yards and he got closer to the pin with the 1 iron 6 iron. :-) Later on I had him try the driver and he hit it about the same as his, about 300 yards, but much higher. he said the loft was too much for him.
It was a great four days and I played very well. I can't wait until the 5 wood is available.

I received my 1 iron irons and woods 6 weeks ago and had practiced according to the playability tips at the range. Results were promising but no big improvement. However on a recent golf holiday things really started to come together. I was hitting fairways and greens in regulation with consistancy and my putting was the only part of my game which did not improve. I even had my first hole in one after 50 years of golf. The shot covered the flag the whole way. These really are the best clubs I have ever played but they do need time to get used to.

- 3-wood as driver -- Tom, 19:15:57 05/09/10 Sun
I recently added the 3w to my 1-iron set and started using it in place of a driver. So far, the trade-off of accuracy vs distance is working out in my favor, but I also noticed another benefit. I'm suddenly much better with my 2nd shots using the 5 and 7 woods. Coincidence maybe, but I think it might be eliminating the driver swing and set-up has allowed me to stay a bit more in the groove with my fairway woods during a round.

- First Round With Titanium Driver -- Brad, 19:03:01 04/26/10 Mon
After a few sessions getting acclimated on the practice range, I finally had an opportunity to use the 1-Iron Titanium driver on the golf course.
The result: 11 of 14 fairways in regulation in bad conditions (rain-soaked course and 20-30 mph winds) with three near misses. And for the first time ever, I played a full round not only with one golf ball, but with a single tee.
All of which adds up to: Shorter driver = better contact = more accurate driving.
Because of the extreme conditions, I cannot honestly say I hit the 1-Iron Titanium driver shorter, farther, or the same distance, as my conventional model. I suspect total distance (carry plus roll) is comparable, perhaps a little bit less.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, given the accuracy of David's single-length irons. For my part, I would rather hit an 8-Iron from the short grass, than a Pitching wedge around a tree, out of the rough.
If you have an open mind and are hitting a standard-length driver with mixed results, the 1-Iron Titanium driver is definitely worth checking out.

- Golf Channel -- John, 11:42:38 04/20/10 Tue
I read about your 1 Iron Golf System a few years ago in Golf Digest and went to your website and was very intrigued. A few weeks ago I saw 1 Iron Golf on the Golf Channel and became more intrigued so I ordered a full set of your irons along with a #3 wood and driver which I received on April 10th.
My only regret was not ordering them a few years back when I first became aware of your system. I've never owned a set of clubs of this high quality before and certainly never owned a set so well balanced and confidence inspiring. The Playability Tips I received were right on target and I had no trouble getting used to using a single swing and ball position with all of the clubs. I've easily gained 5 yards in distance with all the clubs and the control and accuracy are stunning.
I'm currently a 5 handicap but am sure these clubs will take me to "0" within a couple of months. Thank you for a fantastic product along with great customer service and for the Swing Tips newsletters.

- 2nd Time on the range -- Jeremy Graham UK (JJ), 23:49:45 04/15/10 Thu
Morning David
I took on board you coments about lateral swaying in my swing, and you are right. I have been working hard on the swing in a barrel approach and have found a more consistant strike of the ball with the irons and as for the driver again I have found by removing that lateral sway and getting my head behind the ball instead of in front I have not only increased my distance but also gained height and a straighter ball flight. At this stage I am only using about a 3/4 swing.
I will keep you informed of my progress as I am gaining more confidence with every trip to the range.
The big test will be when I play my first match.
Kind regards

I opened the box my new 1 Irons came in at my friends range today. I immediately took the 3-iron out and started hitting the best shots of my life. I never dreamed I'd be able to hit a 3-iron like that after years of not being able to hit anything stronger than a 5-iron. These irons are beautiful and the quality is very high indeed. They swing easy and feel very solid at impact. The ball jumps off the clubface like I've never seen with other irons and they hit about one club farther in distance than I'm used to. I was hitting the 5-iron at the 170 yard marker and the 3-iron at the 190 yard marker with a surprisingly high trajectory. I was able to hit perfectly straight shots or work the ball at will with no problem.
Thank you Mr. Lake for these fine clubs. BTW the customer service is phenomenal.

- first tournament with 1 irons -- Juan (Juan Belon Gallego), 10:31:28 03/21/10 Sun
Hi all,
After a couple of rainy months, i was able to participate in a tournament with my 1irons.
As i am still not confident with the driver i only used my 3 iron (excepting 1 hole, where i sliced a little bit the driver)
The rest of the group congratulated my swing and consistency and i won the tournament (first time in my life) with 41 points.
Of course, it is not only the clubs but a lot of work in the driving range but certainly i was able to play 3i 4i 5i etc... without any fear at all.
Most impresive shot was 180 yards with 4i... from the fairway bunker to a couple of yards to the green.
I really hope that i can make my previous distance with my driver with the same consistency in the future!
Best regards and happy golf,
Juan

- Hitting irons well -- Jim Benjamin, 08:49:30 03/18/10 Thu
I have played four rounds with my 1 irons and my shot making has improved with each round. I am hitting them so straight it's amazing and my original distance is just about come back. Since I have started playing with them I have had four birdies and one closet-to-the-pin win. My closest-to-the-pin came on a 170 yard hole into some wind and I hit the 3 iron to about 3 feet. I had to play the shot right of a mound in the green hoping it would release down the mound to the left where the pin was. It went right where I wanted it to and rolled up, over the top of the mound and down to the pin. Most of my birdies have been from shots hit 6 feet or less from the hole. This past Saturday I was about 170 out, in the wrong fairway to the right and had to hit up over some trees to the green. I hit my 4 iron and it sailed up over the trees and I was pin high just two yards right of the green but was able to get up and down. Thanks David!

I received my new 1 Irons at three o'clock this afternoon and went straight to the range. After hitting a full bucket of 80 balls all I can say is WOW!!
For the first 20 balls I crushed the driver and 3-wood perfectly straight and extra-extra long and then moved to the irons. I started with the 5-iron which I hit straight and about five yards farther than my old one. I then started hitting 3-iron shots to the moon. I've never been able to hit a long iron worth a d--- but was nailing shot after shot with this one. Wedges were a dream come true.
All in all I'm floored with these clubs: excellent quality, great feel, better distance, and a lot straighter than anything I've ever played.

I received my new clubs 3i - LW + driver on Tuesday. I have been to the range three times, once a day with only the 3 until this morning when I hit the driver a few times.
So far I am very impressed. I am not a great player but enjoy the heck out of the game. Normally shooting about 115 to 120 I am looking forward to the double digits.
I have always been very comfortable with my old 9i and these swing just like it. Third trip to the range and I started to see good distance with the 3i my accuracy was better on the whole from the first swing.
I feel comfortable enough to take to the course this afternoon for my normal Thursday afternoon nine holes. A very low pressure, fun group to play with so I will report back on my first round.

- Fifth Day with the 1-Irons -- Steve M (Relieved), 12:13:14 02/16/10 Tue
Lying in bed last night happened to read David's Swing Tips No 19 "Take Your Arms Out Of the Swing". Rushed out of bed (11pm), grabbed the #3 iron and began swinging as he describes. Suddenly realized that I had been blocking the ball on the range with long irons, ie not releasing the wrist at impact. Probably also with the mid/short ones which the spin masked?
Hit the range this afternoon and presto, with a much slower swing and looser wrists, the club turned over at impact with decent club head speed. This 3/4 swing produced an appropriate trajectory with a small draw, and carried over 180 yards - and very straight. I'll hold back on a full swing until further notice.
My Thursday game has been moved forward to tomorrow morning. Decided that I'll pay my 50 bucks money game bet upfront, not to put pressure me. Watch this space.
Are my 1-Iron Golf escapades interesting enough to continue this thread?

- Distance gap -- Ron McNeill, 04:35:20 02/16/10 Tue
Received my 1irons yesterday, fantastic service. Went straight to the range with the #3 as indicated in the playing tips. After a few duffed shots the ball flew straight and long. What fantastic clubs. I may be anticipating a problem that may never arise but my concern is the distance gap between the #3 fairway wood and the #3 iron. With my previous clubs I needed a hybrid to bridge the gap. As it is recommended to carry 4 wedges with equal gaps is this likely to be a problem?

OK, I took the plunge and order the 3-AW set. Now I want to hear about how the driver fits into all this from players who have purchased the driver and used it. I currently have a Taylormade Burner that is a year or two old that is 46" long. I hit it good when I hit it good. lol

- Question about body makeup -- Jim Benjamin, 11:48:01 02/05/10 Fri
David,
My WTF is 36". I have a question about this length relative to my body. I am 6'2" but long waisted. From the waist down I'm like 5'10" and the waist up I'm like 6'4". My inseam is 29" but my sleeve length is 35". Does this make a difference in how club length for me would be determined? The club I seem to hit the best is my 8 iron. When I purchase clubs I get them 1/2" longer and 2 degrees upright.
Thank you,
Jim

- Taken the Plunge... Might be a good candidate to follow on the forum -- Steve M, 09:58:31 02/05/10 Fri
I'm the guy with a very short strong swing.
Stumbled across the 1-Iron Golf clubs only 3 days ago and today confirmed my order for a complete set of irons and the #3 wood. Got confirmation a few minutes ago that they're leaving for South Africa today - that's service!
My situation is probably a bit different to most as my game has dramatically improved over the past 4 months from core strengthening exercises, improved fitness and practice. As far as I can see, most people buy these clubs when they're going nowhere with their game or going downhill. Over the past 4 months my handicap has dropped from 15 to a 10 and I've played 2 games in the high 70s, mainly as a result of good driving and short game but not much between. I only make 2-4 GIRs per round as I often don't even attempt a GIR if I'm over 170yds out, rather choosing to play short and straight with a #7 or #8 iron into the fairway near the green, chip in, then putt. Never play a wood off the deck and even battle with my hybrids.
I just have a feeling that I could do even better if my irons were more consistent over 150yds resulting in more GIRs to putt for birdie more often.
Has anyone else bought these clubs when their game is on the up? What has your experience been?
Regards
Steve M

- Short backswing with lots of power -- Steve, 07:44:08 02/04/10 Thu
Hi, after reading the various blogs I'm almost ready to buy a set of 1 Irons, however I have a question. I'm 50 and have very tight back and shoulder muscles as a result of an illness which restricts my backswing to 50-60% of a full swing, however I can still hit my 8 iron 140m and my driver between 230-240m. I get this distance by relying on timing and strength (brute?) - and not losing my balance. When I'm swinging well (lower body still and balanced) I hit a pretty good 8 iron and drive very straight. I'm a 10 handicap and everyone is always surprised I can hit so far with a very short backswing.
Unlike most decent golf swings which start with smooth progressive acceleration from the top, I start my downswing with "great gusto" which severely loads the shaft, hence I've always been fitted with a stiff shaft on irons and woods. My driver swing speed is only between 100 - 103mph, however if I play a regular shaft the club face stays open at impact resulting in a weak fade.
My short powerful swing doesn't work well on lofted wedges as I hit my sand and lob wedges very short compared to other irons, hitting them maximum 60m and 45m respectively with full power as they fly very very high. I should get 90m and 75m I'm sure. However I hit my Pitching wedge 105-110m.
So, given the above situations:
1. Will I be able to hit the 1 Irons with their Proprietary Shaft Optimization or will they lag and keep the face open at impact?
2. Will I hit the wedges correct distances relative to the other irons?
BTW, My favorite (safe) club is my 8 iron.
Thank you
Steve

- 1st golf round with my 1 irons -- Juan, 11:11:09 01/30/10 Sat
Hi all,
Today, i played my first round with 1 irons.
it was not a typical round, as i thought a short course was reserved, my warming time was consumed in solving the situation and, also the wind was horrible (20kts)
So i was on the 1st, with no woods (i was supposed to play a pitch& put) without hitting any ball...
I played the 3 iron in every long shot (from tee and fairway) and keep the ball in the fairway 90% of the times (for me, it was like if it is a different game!)
The level of confidence that i found, just removing insecurities due to changing clubs was AMAZING
I played every club (before 1irons, i have NEVER used a 3 or 4 iron
I played the worse putting in the last years, due to wind and eventhough i made my handicap (29) (although i normally play less)
Given the circunstances, i am sure i can drop 9 strokes in 9 holes.
To sum up, i still need to dial in into the 1 irons (distances etc...) but i am very very happy about my new clubs.
Tomorrow i will be buying the rest of the clubs!!!
Thanks, Dave, for your product!

- 1iron driver -- steve, 20:09:52 12/19/09 Sat
I have recently got the full set of irons and the 3 wood. I have stuck to the playability tips and am starting to get the hang of it with the 3 iron. I like the 3 wood and hit it very well.
I have a conventional driver which is 12 degrees and fairly easy to hit but I am considering getting the 1iron driver because I like the idea of the same set up for all clubs in the bag.
I just think having a conventional club in my bag that I will hit 10 to 12 times a round at my home course gives me a chance to slip into a different set up than the rest of the clubs in my bag.
If the 1iron driver is as good as the 3 wood I would change.
I would like some opinions from other 1iron users.
Thanks

- Putter Shaft Lengths -- Michael, 19:54:45 01/13/10 Wed
David,
Now that I received my new driver and 3 wood this week, my entire bag top to bottom is composed of 1 Iron clubs with the exception of my putter. This is significant as I have always had many different manufactures represented in my bag. I may never need to purchase another wood or iron again unless my wedges wear out. I love my 1 Irons.
Do you have any thoughts about shaft lengths on putters? Is there a "perfect putting posture" that could be created with a shaft length that could be determined by doing a W-T-F measurement as you have instructed us to do for our irons and woods?
In addition to shaft length (if you do have an opinion on this), what other thoughts do you have on putters that you would be willing to share?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Sincerely,
Michael

- New Zealand customer -- Franklin, 08:11:31 08/09/09 Sun
I'd been perusing the 1 Iron GOlf website for 3 months and decided these were the clubs for me. The only obstacle was the shipping ($120USD) and customs/taxes to ship to New Zealand. I emailed Mr. Lake to inquire on this point and he told me that regardless if I bought a brand name set of golf clubs in New Zealand at a local golf store or ordered them directly from the USA I would still be charged the same shipping and duties. The only difference was that the local store would bury these costs in the sales price. Not fully believing this I priced a set of Callaway X-22 irons at three locations in New Zealand with the lowest price being $1,010 in USD. I also priced the same set in a number of golf outlets in the USA and the price was $700 USD. The golf stores in New Zealand were charging $310 USD more than the US stores do so Mr. Lake was more than correct on this point.
I ordered the Used/Demo complete set of 1 Irons plus the driver and received them in practically brand new condition. Of course I didn't read through the Playability Tips that came with my order but headed straight for the range. The clubs look and feel great but I didn't burn up the range on my initial outing. Afterwords I studied the Tips thoroughly and the next day went back to the range. This time things were better but I knew from the Tips that it would take a few trips to the practice range to really get my timing down plus get used to using the same swing and a center ball position with each club.
To make a long story short, after five range trips with no round of golf in-between everything began to fall into place. On the sixth trip it was like somebody flipped on the light switch and I was hitting the best shots of my life by far with every club. I am amazed how high I hit the #3 iron and still get 200 yards carry. A guy next to me at the range thought I was crushing a #5 iron based on the trajectory and when I showed him it was a #3 his jaw hit the ground. He hit a few shots with it and was in disbelief at his distance and shot height. He told me that he couldn't hit a regular #3 iron to save his life (btw - you'll be receiving his order shortly).
I want to thank you for a great product and fantastic customer service.

I've really been crankin' these irons since I got them last month. After 30 years of golf I'm not used to hitting any irons as far as my 1-irons. I'm flying my #3 iron past the 210 yard marker shot after shot. I've picked up about ten yards with every iron not to mention the fact that my miss hit percentage has gone down to practically zero.
It took me about a week to get past the mental break-in period that's pointed out in the playability tips but once I got past this the rest has been heaven.

She has hit my 3 iron and I thought she hit it really well, BUT she says the club felt tooooo heavy for her. She is one inch shorter than me and has two bad shoulders. She said, she didn't want to buy the 1 iron clubs unless they were lighter.

- Christmas present for me -- Roger, 07:44:36 12/14/09 Mon
Since I'm tired of getting ties for Christmas and having to take back half of what I get I decided to treat myself to something I really wanted this year. I ordered a full set of irons plus the #3 wood and driver on December 1st and received them on December 10th. Great customer service and excellent workmanship on the clubs! These clubs feel very well balanced and are the perfect length for me - about a #8 iron length (wtf = 35.5").
I got the emailed Playability Tips the same day I ordered the clubs and read through them a dozen times so that I was ready when the clubs arrived. The first day at the range I only took my #3 iron as the Tips suggested and after about fifteen balls getting used to using just my #8 iron swing I started tagging shots high and long. I'm guessing about 190 yards carry. Once you get the hang of it you don't miss-hit any shots. The next day I took my #3 wood and crushed it right off the bat followed by the driver the next day with the same great results.
The balance and feel of these clubs throughout the swing is extraordinary and is something I'd never experienced with other set of clubs I've had. I can work the ball easily and when I'm hitting a straight shot I can drop it on a dime. They are also great for pitch shots around the green and chipping using the same stance and set-up as a full shot.
I'm in my early 60's with a high single-digit handicap but with these clubs I know this will go down. I'd highly recommend these clubs to anyone who wants to improve their game.

- First Impressions of 1-Iron Clubs -- Roy Reed ("The Detail Man"), 23:35:06 12/12/09 Sat
After doing a lot of research about single-length irons, I made the decision to purchase a full set of the 1-Irons and wedges. They arrived Friday, 11 Dec. WOW! Was I ever impressed!!! Excellent packaging, fast shipping, and they rate an 11 on a scale of 1-10! They are built perfectly, and have a great feel, weight and length-wise (my WTF is 34-34.9) they are all the same length as my favorite 9-iron (36"). Everything about these clubs says "success". Per the instructions, I took the 3-iron to my local indoor driving range (we have 2 feet of snow and its 9* outside) and honestly couldn't believe I was hitting a 3-iron! After a few warm-ups the club swung easier and smoother than any iron I have ever hit - really! Ball hitting was no problem since I just put a mental image of my trusty old 9-iron in my head and swung happily away! The mid-size grips are fantastic - easy to hold and control. And the steel shafts are far superior to my old graphite clunkers. I would just like to thank all the great people at 1-Iron Golf for building such an awesome golf club! Keep up the great work!

I haven't seen it mentioned but the consistent 'lie' on all sticks, gives a greater variation as to which club you use for the 'bump and run' type shots- I've even used the 3 iron, which I'd never do with a conventional set. Everything about these clubs just boost my confidence.

After a few weeks with my 1Irons i finally got what i was looking for!
I guess my new swing is working now and i am very confident with my irons!
Very good distances and i only "misshit" (skulling the ball or hacking into the ground) one out of 20 balls and only if i am staying downhill or uphill lies! I am planing to buy the 1Iron driver in spring, i think i could drop some strokes over 18 holes when hitting a driver longer then my 3 iron off the tee. usually i get around 185 meters (~205 yards) and i am very confident with it but 250 yards with a driver could be possible for me i guess.
after all those rangetrips i finally got em working for me as i expected! i really dont understand why i didnt purchased this irons a lot earlier!
thanks david for those great irons!

- Compare apples to apples -- David Lake, 19:15:40 08/07/09 Fri
There is no standardization in the golf industry as to loft angles. This means that one manufacturer's #7 iron might be the equivalent of another manufacturer's #6 or #5 iron. Many golf club manufacturers will make their irons with "strong" loft angles in order to give the illusion that their golf clubs produce increased distance. You have heard golfers say it a thousand times: "I can hit this #8 iron a lot farther then my old #8 iron". The fact is that they can't. What they can do is hit an 8 iron with a 35º loft angle farther than an 8 iron with a 39º loft angle. When we speak of distance increases using 1 Iron Golf clubs we are referring to the increases you will get as a result of consistent solid ball contact coupled with the dynamics of clubhead design and shaft optimization. Typically, our customers will hit our 39º loft angle iron farther than their old 39º loft angle iron for exactly these reasons. You cannot compare one manufacturer's numbered iron with that of another manufacturer; you have to compare loft angles. It just comes down to a comparison of apples to apples.

Today i got my new "used/demo" set. I was that much impressed when i checked my clubs and they all look BRAND NEW !! After work i went straight to the range with my #3 iron as recommended. I topped the first 15 or 20 balls straight out but then i hit a great shot - incredible far (never hit a #3 before only #5 iron from my old set) since my #9 was the only iron i hit almost 90% very consistent i never used another iron on the course (of cause i hit woods and wedges but no irons from 3-8)
After a full bag of rangeballs (40) hit very solid with my new #3 i called a friend and he came to our home course for a short 9 hole round. ( i know i should not play until several range sessions but i was feeling like playing a round would lead to more success.)
i left my woods and driver in my car and only took my new irons and a putter out on the course. it was amazing!! i played incredible, never had a better round in my life! (i know that i'm still a bad player but since i started golf 6 months ago, this round would have impressed you also :D ) my friend harry didnt believe i was playing with him..
i still have a lot of work on my chipping/putting but since i didnt miss 3-4 strokes each hole like i used to my score dropped like crazy :)
thanks a lot David for your phenomenal clubs! i will post further progress soon.

- impressive increase in distance and divot question -- Han, 07:03:08 11/09/09 Mon
Hi all,
I've been using 1 irons for about 5 months or so and have had mixed results, but mostly good. I'm a 10.5 at my home course, a fairly easy muni.
anyway, starting about a couple weeks ago, i started getting some really scary improvements in distance. I say scary because I was flying over greens with clubs I thought I'd be short with. For example, yesterday, I shot the best round this year I've had, a 78. I hit GW to an elevated pin from 142 and was about pin high, another SW to an elevated pin 135 away and was about 4 yards short. Overall, I'd say I'm at least one club longer but sometimes two! If i didn't start with a triple bogey on the first hole, I could have broke my personal record.
One consequence of my change is that I'm getting back to a divot in front of the ball. It's not a big piece of sod, but probably about 4 inches long and not terribly deep. But in David's swing tips, he recommends a burn mark. I've never really been able to reproduce the burn mark that he talks about, but anyway I'm wondering if anyone out there has had the same thing happen. Is that non-divot thing critical?

- First round with 1-irons -- Martin, 10:35:29 11/01/09 Sun
Hello everyone
I just purchased the 3-lw set and a driver. I got them Tuesday, and went straight to the range with my 3 iron. What a disappointment, I could not hit it straight or far. Went back Wednesday with the same result. But then Friday I started to hit some straight long balls. Not every shot but sertenly a big improvement ( it was a matter of finding the right distance to the ball).
Today I played my first round (I know it's to soon ). I did not make a great score but that was due to my chipping and putting, not the 1-irons. I had so many great iron shots from fairway. I used my 3 iron 3 times, and every time the ball flew about 200 meters (218 yards) and straight. One of the shots was a bunker shot, I landed on the green. I will go to the range this winter and get real comfortable with my new irons. Cant wait till spring. I know I will lower my HCP then.
Thanks for a great product.

Hello everyone, just like me it took me a bit to get used to the 1iron system, David tells you the truth now its up to you to decide what to with it. Just how ironic it is, there was a question about sport specific fitness for golf? David answered with there is no such thing just do a full body work out, Well was doing the golf fitness thing for a few months this year and gained some flexibilty but not much gain, Just went to a full body work out like David says and the gains were so much better, My swing was a bit tighter and had plenty more power, than when I was doing the stretching way too much, Good call David.
David any pending Holiday specials coming up? Just thinking ahead for next golf season, cheers to all Pedro

The club heads are quite nice and have the look of durable quality steel. The face and top line are very nice (I typically play blades. My biggest and most pleasant surprise is the club length. I am 5 feet 10 inches tall with a W-T-F of 34 3/4 inches. My irons are as long as a standard 9 iron. I can hit my 9 iron solid all day long. I also received a 3 wood that is a little shorter than a standard 7 wood. I love the size and shape of the head (it reminds me a bit of a Callaway Hawk Eye VFT from the top. The Driver is about 43 inches and simple but it has a deep face so I feel I can bomb it. The grips are a different style and look than I am used to but they feel as if I have a very secure grip on them and at the same time they won't tear my hands up. I will up date you all after a session or 2.

David,
I was in the library last week, and I found a book called "Core Performance Golf" by Mark Verstegen. The book seems to advocate the same swing motion you stress in your playability tips (no sway, etc). The main purpose of the book is to teach development of core strength and flexibility to support the golf swing. It give innumerable exercises to develop hip, torso, and shoulder strength.
Have you personally found exercises that are helpful for the golf swing? Would you be willing to briefly share such knowledge with us?

An email that we received:
Dear David
An informative newsletter (SwingTips XVIII), as I had been puzzling as to why your wedges have been giving me such tighter results than my previous ones, and an unprecedented success ratio from bunkers.
I have had the 1-Iron clubs for twelve weeks now and I like EVERYTHING about them. I have never hit such consistent, straight and ever lengthening drives. My fairway-wood play is totally transformed. Iron play improves week by week. The percentage of pars and now even birdies continues to rise. I am successfully playing shots that I would not
have dared before.
Of course I am still, frustratingly, having about three wipe-out or triple bogey holes per round wrecking my totals due to false muscle-memory lapses. However I am gradually clearing out the old instructional clutter and accept that it is still early days with much work still to be done. I have even just bought an electric trolley to ease the back-troubles.
So I am really enjoying using the 1-Iron clubs, making such visible progress and looking forward eagerly to each round. All thanks to you Mr. Lake and your exemplary company.
Sincerely,
Ed H.

- First 2 weeks -- Louis, 11:33:41 10/12/09 Mon
I received my clubs about 2 weeks ago and thought I would share my experiences since then. Before purchasing the clubs, I was on this forum reviewing everyones experiences for almost a month before taking the plunge. So, hopefully, this posting will help someone who is also considering the 1 iron clubs.
As I already emailed to David, I was immediately impressed with the quality and finish of the clubs, and I absolutely love the grips.
My first time out I followed the "tips" and went with the 3 iron. Because I anticipated a length of a "conventional" 8 iron based on WTF my measurements, I had been exclusively hitting my old 8 iron for about 2 weeks before receiving the new clubs. My new clubs were just about the same length (a little less). The swing transition was easy but it took about a bucket of balls before I started to see my 3 iron fly around 185 yards in a very consistent direction. It was wonderful to be hitting my 3 iron so consistently with good distance. After a time (different practice session), I moved to the other clubs with the same consistency and yardage, and eventually brought out the driver. Again, after a bucket of balls, I was hitting consistently around 250 yards and STRAIGHT! This was about my same yardage with my old driver.
Yesterday I was again at the range and now started to feel like I could pick up the swing speed a bit. For the first time, I hit my driver and landed the ball just short of the far fence on 2 bounces. The fence is 300 yards away! Overall, this was by far the best practice session that I have ever hit with my driver.
I also hit my 4, 5, 6, and 7 irons and felt incredibly confident with every swing. Not having to adjust the "swing plane" and set-up for every iron, especially going from one extreme (3 iron) to another (PW), is amazing.
I am taking David's advice and waiting another 2 weeks to become completely comfortable with the clubs before playing a round. But so far, I have to say that I am completely delighted with the clubs. I also purchased the wedges and 3 and 5 woods. They also feel very comfortable to swing...and CONSISTENT!
I hope this helps anyone who may be considering a purchase. I will continue to post any new revelations and results of my first rounds of play.
I am one happy golfer! Both with the clubs and the great customer service.

- My experience -- Roger, 07:48:48 09/13/09 Sun
I first ran across the 1 Iron Golf website last November and have visited it regularly ever since. I didn't pull the trigger on a set of clubs until last month and I got the used-demo full set of irons plus a #3 wood and driver.
I followed the Playability-Tips that came with my clubs to the letter and took four trips to the driving range before playing a round of golf. As David Lake states in the Tips it takes a few of these range trips to get used to using the same swing and set-up with every club and at first I lost some distance like he said you would initially. By the third trip to the range I was starting to really get the feel and timing down for these clubs and had gained back my old distances plus a few extra yards. The biggest change I noticed was that I wasn't miss-hitting any of my shots where I could always expect about 20% miss-hits with my old long irons. By my fourth range trip I was hitting the shots of my life - high, long, and straight.
My first round of golf was an eye-opener as I was nailing my shots straight at the pin but was hitting the ball too far. I went down one club on all my approach shots and everything dialed in. I ended up matching my best round of 77, something I haven't been able to come close to for a number of years.
I can't begin to tell you how excited I am about my new golf game and my 1 Irons. I can only say thank you Mr. Lake and 1 Iron Golf.
Roger

- single figure golfer anxious if this is the right move -- christo strang, 11:34:45 09/19/09 Sat
I am a reasonable 6 hc ,playing once or twice a week for the last 8 yrs.I am 52 ,and on good days shoot below my hc,even getting level par rounds on a couple of occasions. On bad days I can shoot up to high 80's...how I hate those days !!! like everyone else I am looking for consistency....which is why Iam drawn to the 1 iron concept.I would love to hear from other single figure golfers who have taken the plunge into 1 iron golf clubs and how things worked out.The clubs themselves look a little 'clunky' and cheap, and the graphics don't look that slick... can anyone reassure me as to quality and looks ( important to me !! ) Many thanks

Can anyone out there say that the 1 irons that they purchased really lowered their scoring.

- Outdriving the taylormade R9 -- Tom, 16:19:15 08/24/09 Mon
Just wanted to let everyone know about some fun I had with my buddy today. He just bought the Taylormade R9 adjustable driver for about $400. He was all proud and showing it off to everyone. I then proceeded to knock it about 15 yards past him all day long, using my 1iron driver. I also hit all but 2 fairways, and those weren't by much. Accuracy is more important than distance, but having both is awesome. By the way, I am 5'7'', 160lbs, 37 years old. My buddy is 6'1", 205lbs, and 30 years old. I wish you could see his face. As I always say, buy the clubs, they will change your game!
Tom

Yet another data point. I took the plunge and ordered a set of irons yesterday. My plan is to post some background info and then experiences/results.

David, thanks for a great product. I enjoy playing golf with my 1iron clubs. Are your 3 iron and 5 wood designed to deliver the same distance? Thanks, Jerry

- Used-Demo irons -- William, 11:41:44 08/17/09 Mon
I just received the Used-Demo set of irons I purchased from you and I'm very impressed with the excellent condition they're in. Some of them look like they've maybe hit a few balls at most while the others look almost brand new. The irons feel great and I'm looking forward to improving my ball striking through your instructions that came with my set.
