Subject: Delighted

I’m a 73 year old golfer who has been playing the game for about 65 years. For the past few years my game has been heading down hill and the enjoyment waning. After a round of poor ball striking while playing in a local tournament last fall, I vowed to get competitive again or give up the game. Shortly after that, I stumbled across a reference to 1 Iron Golf on an Internet forum. I thoroughly researched the concept, the clubs, the company, talked at length to David Lake, and ordered a demo set of 3 - LW 1 Iron clubs. I received the clubs in the middle of November.

Getting familiar with the “new” clubs (and they did appear to be brand new) got me back to practicing regularly on the range. It took a few weeks to identify and begin to correct the flaws that had crept into my swing.

Once I started getting the swing straightened out, I really started to enjoy the new irons. Call me weird, but for me the greatest enjoyment in golf has always been hitting it “pure.” These clubs deliver that little endorphin rush more often than any clubs I've had — shot after shot. Distance with all the irons is increasing — at my age, that’s amazing. On average, my carry is about 10 to 12 yards farther now than it was at any time in the past eight years. More importantly, the trajectory and accuracy are excellent.

I turned 70 last month and bought a set of 1-Irons as my own birthday present. I wish I had got this present for my 50th birthday because I would have been shooting par for the past 20 years instead of mid-80s. I've gained at least five yards per club over my set of Pings and I've never hit the ball straighter or with more consistency. The amazing thing is that my 1 Iron #3 iron hits the ball higher than my Ping #5 iron but it flies forever and lands with one bounce and stops. I've been hitting it from 190 yards out. Finest clubs I've ever played.

Fred
