David,
About 2 years ago, I had the opportunity to watch Jaacob demo his driving prowess at a Los Angeles area range. He was hitting drive after drive well over 300 yards with ease. He used a couple of his drivers, as well as a driver from one of the other spectators. I am curious if he has tried your 1-Iron titanium driver. If so, did you get any feedback from him about it? What shaft length would he get?

Hi Robert,

Just curious...at which range did you see me?

Yes, I have tried David's driver and fairway woods. With my 37" WTF...my woods are built to 41.5" and driver is 43". I hit all of them very consistently accurate.

I rotate the 5W in and out of my bag depending on the course that I'm playing. However, at the moment, I'm not using the 3W or driver. Despite their extremely good accuracy, I want a 3W that goes a little farther and I want a driver with a smaller head volume such that I have the option to hit it directly off the fairway to reach a really long Tour-length par-5.

Keep in mind, though, that what meets my personal needs is different than what would be beneficial to most golfers. The larger hitting area on a 460cc driver is more forgiving...and it's not really smart to hit a driver off the deck unless your ball-striking and swing speed has been developed to a certain level.

David and I have been discussing options for me.

Jaacob,

The driving range is in the northern reaches of the San Fernando Valley. Can't remember the name. You were helping Dan with his workshop, which was videotaped.

Ah, yes, that would have been Dan's How to Kill the Ball clinic with me, Dan, Phil Reed (who wrote that In Search of the Greatest Golf Swing book) and David Bernacki...I think in July 2005. That was fun. :-)

How you been hitting em?
