Subject: My first 9 holes

Okay, I just had my clubs delivered last week and I hit a quick 9 hole par 3 today and I cant say how pleased I am. These irons are the real deal. I beat my best score by 6 strokes on my first time out. On hole 9 (170 yards), I grabbed my 4 iron. I could never hit a 4 for my slice was always 40 yards left (im a lefty). I lined up like my 8 iron, took a slow back swing and drilled the ball over 180. Yes, it was long, but it was straight. I could not believe how easy it was to hit. Its so easy now to grab any iron and use the same line as your regular 8 iron.
Dave, you have made golf fun again. Thank you, sir
-Eric

Eric,

Thank you for the kind words and I am glad that your new 1 Irons are helping your game.

The same thing happened to me when I first started playing my 1 Irons. I could nail all of the irons except for the 3 and 4 irons until one day when I mistakenly pulled out my 3 iron on a 145 yard par three thinking it was my 8 iron. I hit the ball as perfectly as any shot I've ever hit but the ball flew over the green about 55 yards past the pin. At that instant everything that was listed in the Playability Tips that came with my clubs clicked. Unconsciously I hadn't been using the same swing with my 3 and 4 irons that I was using with my 5 iron on down thinking that I had to kill the ball with the 3 and 4. After this incident I started nailing every shot with my 3 and 4 irons making sure that I'm using the same swing that I was used to using with my 7 and 8 irons. By concentrating on using this same swing with all my irons my distances, accuracy, and crisp ball striking have gone way up.

I dont yet have my playability tips for I have a used set. I plan on ordering here next week. I have another 2 rounds this weekend though and was wondering if the SW,LW,PW should be played the same as the other irons. Should i close my stance on the 20 yard chips ? Any secret to playing those clubs ? Thanks
