Subject: 25th Anniversary

2005 will be the band's 25th Anniversary. This is a pretty significant birthday considering the life expectancy of most pipe bands. As you all know, MCPB is a family and that's what has kept us going through the good and bad times. This is a very big milestone that could only have occurred with the special people that make up the band. You all have a right to be very, very proud.

I would like to do something special for this Anniversary, but I'm looking for ideas. Please give this some thought and send me your ideas. It could be something we do at the dinner, but could be something that stands alone.

Some ideas I've had are:

A new CD. This is probably not a good idea right now because we're trying to get ready for Scotland and I believe we have a legitimate chance at the prize list -- so I don't want our musical direction distracted by learning a lot of new CD music.

A music book. This is something I've talked about and think we should proceed with, whatever else we do. If you have music you've written, please get it to me. If you don't use Piobmaster, send it to me as a jpg file or handwritten and I'll convert it. I'd like to ask Jim, Chuck, Paul and Amy to assist me with selection and editing if you can.

Anyway, give me your ideas about how we can celebrate and commemorate our 25th Anniversary. No idea is bad (although we will have a special committee to consider anything Dave comes up with ;-)
