Subject: Does Pine Straw
In reply to: Cari 's message, "I'm bringing..." on 10:38:00 11/01/07 Thu

(pine needles) make good garden mulch? Here, it is hard to get even grass to grow around the pine trees. I was thinking that they may be too acidic? Anyway, don't forget the lime? A lot of my tomatoes had the bottom end rot this year, however, it was the first time a garden had been planted in this spot. Soon, I will apply several bags of lime along with the chikkin hocky and till it all in. Next growing season, I should have some pretty tomatoes. If, Mother Nature smiles on me and provides me with showers of luvvv. We are still in a drought situation.....
