She couldn't help but wonder with a tilted smirk on her lips. Why was she back here? Years had passed and life had moved on. What had once been teeming with life was now nothing more than wild vegetation. Three days she'd stayed here, atop the cliff that separated this paradise from the rest of the cruel world. In that span, she'd seen nothing to suggest other.. intelligent life here. Birds, yes. Insects, yes. Plants, more than enough. But adepts, demon lords, and winged humanoids? All missing. Time had pulled them apart, yet somehow she'd been drawn back: a spiral that let her wander but, inevitably, drew her back. Spreading her wings, hearing a distinct pop from its prolonged inactivity, she let herself soar down from the cliff into the forest below.
