The cylinder numbering on both the port and starboard engines is always the same, regardless of rotation. Looking at the engine from the back, the front left cylinder is # 1, front right #2, etc. Your instruction manual shows this numbering.

The firing order for the starboard engine is 1-2-7-5-6-3-4-8. The is the same as any GM car or truck engine.

The firing order for the port engine is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

To establish the initial timing, remove the plugs and manually turn the engine (socket wrench on nut on front crankshaft pulley is one way) until the piston on cylinder # 1 is all the way up and both valves are closed. Look at the distriutor with the cap off and mark the position of the rotor on the outside of the distributor. Reinstall the cap and the plugs and connect the #1 plug wire to the marked position. Then follow the firing order sequence shown above. Your engine will be timed at top dead center.

Somewhere I have this information but can' find it right now. Must be on the boat. I believe the plug wiring is the reverse but not sure. Will send it to you when I find it.

But can you tell me what size, diameter & pitch, your props are?
