1959 22' Chris-Craft Sea Skiff For Sale -- Gary L. Leavens, 21:58:01 01/26/04 Mon (user-uinj0ig.dialup.mindspring.com/165.121.130.80)
"Cricket" has cruised the fresh international waters of Lake Memphremagog between Vermont and Canada since 1959. This 22' lap strake hull skiff (Hull No. SK222355) with 8' beam is equipped with one original Chris-Craft 283 cu. in. V-8 engine (Engine # 802807) with 610.5 hours. The excellent condition of this Sea Skiff reflects the quality of care the boat has had over its 45 years. Most recently, the boat was refinished in 1985 and again in 1994. This U.S. Coast Guard approved Chris-Craft is presently in storage on a trailer in Vermont. Included accessories are: tailored full canvas cover, white bimini top w/ side curtains, fortress style anchor, bilge pump, spot light, depth finder, life jackets, boat hook, boarding ladder, U.S. and Chris-Craft flags, 2 gull sweeps, fishing rod holders, beverage holders, folding chairs, portable toilet, CB radio, and a Le Tube with tow rope. Also included is a new Interstate marine battery. This beautiful old boat with plenty of power and speed will make a statement on the water no matter where she goes. We hate the thought of selling her, but we must. Photos available upon request.

Skiff Project -- Captn Pea, 10:35:41 10/24/03 Fri (NoHost/66.84.139.246)
24' CC Sea Skiff Project Description.
1964, purchased new in 1965, I have most of the original paperwork.
How do I post pictures? will add some if anyone is interested.
1) Rot forward in bilge area, appears to be from deck leaks during storage. I have removed the garboards back to just past the bulkhead, from there back they are solid. It'll be a trick but I will be putting in a 12/1 (6") scarf joint replacing from the bow to the cut. Also will be laminating in place replacement ribs from the peak to the engine, from there back things seem ok, some minor repair nothing much.
Next: Remove toe rails and forward decking. Laminate ribs in place (mahogany and West), then remove and replace the 1st and second plank on the port side, and the 1-3 plank on the starboard side. Stem has some bad areas but, mainly in the plywood that was laminated around the mahogany center, will scarf in new plywood in bad area.
2) New frame to the deck for windshield and side windows (aluminum framed). I have cut the mahogany to rough shape, later project, but, I do need to know about the sealing the glass in it's aluminum frame. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get the seals, or other techniques that can be used. All of the seals had shrank and leaked, this is how the rot problems got as bad as they are as the boat was stored with only a snapped on canvas from the windshield aft so every rain let water in to sit in the bilge.
3) New deck, I want to go with a bright deck. Maybe a teak and holly plywood, any suggestions?
4) New pilots seat, last owner installed a mini-fridge and cut the seat apart to put it in. I've roughed and bisket joined the new seat, this comes after structure and deck replacement.
5) Crack in the pilot/interment panel box. Pull out disassemble and repair by shooting with West and clamping back together, refinish. May have to disassemble and replace depending on how the repair goes.
6) Transom, just strip re-finish.
7) Engine replace hoses, belts, wires, etc... just maintained.
8) New flooring vinyl (maybe). Long term this may turn to bright work also, another season.
9) I didn't like the white ply stuff that covered the ribs, I'm going to replace with bright mahogany strips running the length.
10) Add lighting, update electrical.
11) Install fixed head and small holding tank under the passenger seat, run plumbing etc..
Anything else I can come up with. Want to launch by June 2004.
Should I be committed…
There coming to take me away..
he he, ho ho, ha ha…
To the funny farm..
Where life is beautiful all the time..

I have recently acquired a 1957 Sea Skiff 25ft with cradle and tandem axle trailer. I'm not sure if I want to sell it or keep the boat to restore. The boat has been out of the water for several years. I don't know the history of the boat, but I do believe there has been some work done in the past. The transom looks to of been replaced at some time along with some of the planks, which are butt blocked together. The engine is a 6cyl. Chris Craft marine engine Model "M" Engine No. 300888. Hull No. SK26562. I got the motor to turn over but not fire. The forward deck of the boat is soft and needs replaced along with a lot of paint and varnish work.
Can anybody give me any ideas what it might be worth as it sits and when it is restored to sea worthy condition.
Thanks, Eric

I am looking for a member's expertise in identifying a FIBERGLASS c-c with a SIMULATED LAPSTRAKE deep-v hull. Although I never purchased the boat, I found one for sale about 5 years ago. It was around 21 to 23 feet, had a small cuddy cabin and had a white hull with red trim. I'm pretty sure it had a I/O drive. I believe it was a late sixties model or early seventies. I have never seen another one of these in the water or for sale.
Was this glass chris-craft (with simulated laps) a cc or a sea skiff?
If it's a Chris-Craft, what model would it be? Possibly a Cosair?
I would love to know more about this paticular glass cc or sea skiff with simulated laps. Any information would be greatly appreciated as I would like to research the boat and possibly find one to buy.
Thank you,
J. Todd McDowell

- Back from Mount Dora! -- Jennifer, 12:18:17 03/29/06 Wed (69-166-13-21.atlaga.adelphia.net/69.166.13.21)
Mount Dora was a success! There were several Skiff's in attendance, and the CCSSC (Chris Craft Sea Skiff Club) had a meeting on Saturday.
I believe we are going to try and got a web-based club, as there has been trouble in *getting* someone to put out a newsletter. We've had two people say they were going to do it, and then end up not being able too.
With the club as *spread* out as it is (US and Canada) the web-based idea seems to be merited.
For those interested in attending Hartwell, there will be a Sea Skiff Cruise on Wednesday the 19th, two days before the actual start of the show. We'd love to see you there!

I have a 1976 22' Chris Craft cutlass with lapstrake sides.
I see quite a few boats like mine but they all have straight inboards. My boat has a different transom and is designed for an outboard.
I was told there were very few 22 footers made in the 70's with outboards.
Is there anyway I can find out how many were made that year? and does anyone know someone that has this type of boat?
Thanks

Sad News to Pass Along..... -- Jennifer, 22:36:09 06/03/05 Fri (69-166-13-21.atlaga.adelphia.net/69.166.13.21)
The Chris Craft Sea Skiff Club lost a very good friend on May 21, 2005 when one of our founding members, Ken Jorgensen, passed away after many week hospital stay.
I hope everyone will join with me in keeping Ken's family, including his *first mate* Nan in their thoughts and prayers. Words cannot convey the sorrow and sense of loss that many of us are feeling at this moment, and if you scroll down the message board you will see many posts from Ken J.
His knowledge is unsurpassed, and the friendship that he gave will truly be missed. Anyone interested in making contributions in Ken's name to his Church please email me.
Just please keep Nan and their children in your prayers, as she will need the strength as she faces the days and months ahead.
Ken we love you and we will miss you!

WHAT A DAY WE HAD.... I wish that each and every one of you could have been with us on Wednesday for our "short" cruise from North Lake Hartwell down into the Hartwell Marina. It was the nicest day (weatherwise) that we had. The boat show was awesome with 12 Sea Skiffs in attendance and 14 memberships represented.... NOT BAD! Next year the boat show should be about two weeks later, trying to get better weather (April 22nd).
Congratulations to Jennifer and her Dad Joe.... they received a special award on Saturday at the banquet. I know that Joe would have been so proud (and in my opinion, he was right there with us).

I have a 1968 CC Futura (Plywood cruiser in the Cavalier style). Bought it when the twin 327F engine hours were low but have never been able to get high rpm (3500+)out of it. Over the years I have re-built the distributors, carburetors, added optical ignition, hydraulic trim tabs but each time only added 200 rpm. Compression is good. full 32 degree advance acheived at 3200 rpm. Vacuum falls off quickly with load. top rpm achieve is 3600 with secondary choke plates forced open (not enough vacuum to open these counter-weighted plates naturally. Propellers are 15X10 which I understand are undersized (verified by top speed being much lower than expected at 3600 rpm too). Any Ideas? Have heard it could be tired valve springs but many mechanics disagree with that theory.
Any opinions would be appreciated

- '63 - 28' Sea Skiff Hard Top -- Anita Caldwell, 11:20:06 10/15/04 Fri (adsl-65-43-147-230.dsl.bcvloh.ameritech.net/65.43.147.230)
Need to find a trailer for this 10'2" beam Sea Skiff. Transporting to inland Mexico, Lake Chapala near Guadlajara. Or I will have to sell the boat.
Would be willing to purchase, or lease, your trailer, and return. Or if you can transport anytime between mid-2005 and mid-2006 on your appropriate trailer, that would work.
I do not need a trailer except for moving it this one time.
I am aware of all the different border requirements and can expedite those with my Mexican moving company.
This is very, very flexible. Thanks. Also, any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Love reading all the posts.

Wow! Sorry for being a Delinquent poster..... -- Jennifer, 12:13:46 09/27/04 Mon (69-166-13-21.atlaga.adelphia.net/69.166.13.21)
But time got away from me, and I can't believe its almost October!
I hope everyone has had a wonder Summer patrolling the lakes in their Sea Skiffs.....The ACBS Annual Meeting was held just about 2 weeks ago here at Lake Lanier Islands in Georgia.
We of course were dealing with the possibility of Hurricane Ivan, and this fact kept the attendance of boats down. There was a point where there were only 12 boats in the water, and the funny thing is 1/3 of those boats were Sea Skiffs!
The preliminary events on Tuesday and Wednesday featured trips on the lake to lunch destinations on each day. Wednesday the weather wasn't looking to bright, and the lake was very rough. Only 5 boats had the gumption to head out for the Wednesday cruise....
4 of the 5 were Sea Skiffs!!! Chris Smith's Cora B, Susan Wilson & Shirley Brown's Just Awesum, Bob Churchill's Classy 62, and my own Crazy 8.
Nothing can stop Sea Skiff's, they are such a great riding boat in rough water!!
I hope the Fall and Winter keeps everyone in good spirits, and hope to see many of you Skiff Owners at Mount Dora in March!

Hello all,
Looking for some help on this boat. I have just purchased this in project form, and while I have photos of the boat from back in her hey-day, I need measurements of the seam locations for the Nautalex materials on the cabin roof and decks. Everything has been stripped, hardware, rails, rub-rail,and all for the new decking that was installed and covered with West-System products, and now the puzzle must go back together. If anyone has one of these,or knows of a very original boat, I would love some photos and dimensions.
I am trying to go back as correct and original as possible,so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have sent for info from the Mariners but I know it will not be that detailed. Hope to have her floating next year,so please help if anyone can. Thanks,Mark

Sea Skiff Caulking Questions/Information -- Alan, 07:42:38 07/13/04 Tue (dhcp024-209-246-179.cinci.rr.com/24.209.246.179)
I have a 1964 Chris Sea Skiff 35' Corinthian (plywood/Lapstrake). I am in the process of doing a minor restoration. (outside hull/bottom and inside bilge area repainting). When I scrapped/cleaned the inside bilge in preparation for the bilge repaint, I noticed that someone had run a caulking "bead" on the bilge inside between the garboard planks and the keelson for the entire length of the boat. This did not look like an original "factory" caulking job as some of it was pretty sloppy. I don't know what type of caulk this was, but I did find cartridges of 3M 101 Polysulfide and also 3M 5200 Polyurethane on the boat.
Some of this caulk was pretty deterioated, so I pulled off all I could get too from the inside between the garboard & keelson. On these boats, I believe the garboard plank is fastened to the keelson with screws from the bottom of the boat through the garboard screwed into the bottom of the keelson timber. I think Chris Craft originally used somekind of caulking similar to 3M 5200 between the garboard plank and the keelson rabbet. However, after 40 years, maybe some of Chris Craft's original caulk may be breaking down and that is why someone ran a newer bead of caulk in the bildge area between the garboard & keelson seam? What to do now? I was thinking of trying to reef out as much of the deterioating caulk along the garboard to keelson seam and clean that seam as good as I could and then recaulk that seam as best that I could. I was thinking of using 3M 5200 as 5200 may be similar to what Chris Craft originally used or 4200 (if I ever wanted to remove a garboard plank - I hope that I never have to!). Oh yes, I also do plan to recaulk the outside garboard to keelson seam with some type of caulking (3M 5200? 4200? 101? Interlux Brown Seam Compound?)
Can someone give me recommendations on what to do as far as possibly replacing this caulking bead that someone had run between the garboad & keelson on the inside of the boat? (1) should I bother to recaulk this garboard to keelson seam at all on the inside? (2) If so, what type of caulk to use? A polysulfide (3M 101)? A polyurethane (3M 5200 or 4200)? Also, what recommendations as far as recaulking that garboard to keelson seam on the bottom/outside of the boat?
I appreciate your knowledge as I am trying to get this caulking question solved before I do something wrong and then have to strip paint, reef out the wrong caulking solution and do the job all over again. Oh, by the way, the structure/framing of this boat is in good condition without any rot.
Thanks

1957 Sea Skiff 22' folding seat section -- Kenneth E Hapeman, 14:33:50 07/12/04 Mon (alb-66-65-233-89.nycap.rr.com/66.65.233.89)
I'm trying to identify and/or purchase the hardware that holds up the front center folding seat back on my 1957 22' Sea Skiff. The seat supports just outside the center folding piece have 2 small round plates with small round holes, as if they were meant for a deadbolt except that the hole is smaller than any deadbold that I've ever seen. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi! My husband and I rescued a '67 35' seaskiff. We actually traded a perfectly good 22' bell bouy for it and quite enjoy it as a 'downtown' pad but now the costs are a rising! She has 327 engines that we are told need re-building. New risers, etc.....quoted $10,000. minumum to fix. We have stripped and revarnished all the mahogany on her, new v-berth cushions, and all that cosmetic stuff but now unless we can find new engines, she'll be sitting or for sale. Any suggestions?

I'm considering selling my 21 ft plastic(fiberglass) boat and purchasing a restored 1955 26ft Sea Skiff for use in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of AL. for fishing (about 20 miles out in 3 to 4 ft seas) and just running around in the local bays. Will the boat hold up in the Gulf and in salt water???????? I believe it has a 130 hp "M" engine.
Thanks for any suggestions. Chris.

Water Pump- 1964 24' Sea Skiff 283 -- Barry, 22:40:21 03/30/04 Tue (cache-dtc-ad04.proxy.aol.com/205.188.116.198)
The original Jabsco pump #12050-0001 seized while running. Since this pump is no longer available I purchased a Magnaflow, but am having a problem mounting it because of the difference in the inlet and outlet configurations from the Jabsco. Looking for advice on mounting the Magnaflow or having the Jabsco rebuilt. I have noticed that the key way on the drive mechanism turns freely. Is it possible that something inside could have sheared when the pump seized? Or is there some type of clutch in the mechanism that allows the key way to turn when the engine is not running?
Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Barry

Hello all, I tried one post earlier but it didn't seem to take so I'll try again.
I'm hoping to find info or interested party for what I believe is an early to mid 1950's Chris-Craft Runabout. I'm guessing it's 16'- haven't pulled a tape on it yet - and it looks to be complete with all hardware, flat head v-8, prop,I believe original trailer, ect. It appears to be a complete vessel, just the wood is all rotten.
Is the wood worth anything for templates for someone to build a new shell and reuse everything else or not? I'm not real sure what I've got here, but would like to sell it in the hopes that someone can bring it to life again.
I'm hoping to find some #'s on it and take photos in the near future to help find out exactly what it is.
Any info or help would be appriciated.
Thanks Dave

Recently purchased a '62 23' Sea Skiff I/m and looking for advice. In inspecting and scratching the bottom of the hull I noticed what looked like a thin layer of epoxy after tearing a piece of the flaking bottom paint. Did CC apply something of the sort on the bottoms or was this something done at a later? We plan to bring the bottom to bare wood anyway and applying a coat of flexible epoxy before applying bottom paint. Any thoughts on this situation? This is a great site and full of great information. Very glad I discovered it. The one thing I find lacking is a gallery of photos. If any one owns or has photos of a 23' of 1961-1964 I would much appreciate seeing them. Thank you.

I haven't noticed anyone from the Chesapeake Bay area here; guess I'll be the one. Dad recently bought a 57 22' CC Skiff. It needs a complete restoration, though he won't admit it yet. She needs many frames replaced and was stored poorly. Anyway, during our fixing and patching to slow the tide, we thought the prop is way too small. There just seemed to be a lot of extra clearance. We dug through the paperwork and found a 1986 survey states a 13" prop. Right now it is only 10". Bronze doesn?t shrink, does it? The engine is the original "K" series with a single carb. I have read they came with as many as three. Does anyone have an idea what may be the properly sized prop? We wouldn't mind getting all the power (economy) the girl has to offer, assuming the hull stays together.
Fair winds,
Glenn Ross

Hi all, well I have bought yet another wooden boat (no end in sight) This one is a 22' Sea Skiff Ranger trunk cabin. It is reported to be in good condition but I think way under powered with its 6 cyl motor.I am wondering if it is under propped as well with only a 12X12prop. Anyone familiar with this model and can point me in the right direction? I have had some exposure to regular Sea Skiffs but not this model.Wondering what its problem areas are? I am sure the windshields are typical and will be plagued by leaks and punky wood.Electrics are updated...Going next Sat to bring her home to stay at our lake here in SC. Thanks all.

Can I ask the list subscribers to let me know what they think I should look for while inspecting the boat? Be as verbose as you like, either here or mail me at Harlyred1@aol.com. Thank you in advance.

How similar are the smaller Chris' to the Jersey Skiffs built by Seaman and others? Are the 16' boats VERY similar? They appear that way, but I'm curious.

I have a beauty of a boat that has a problem I need to correct. The fuel tank has been left occupied with stale gasoline for a good number of years. Poking a stick to the bottom gives the impression that there is about an inch of molasses hugging the battom tank floor. How do I remove it? can it be done without "pulling the tank"?

I have a windshield from a 1958-1959 22' Sea Skiff Ranger that I am willing to give to someone who can put it to good use. This is one of the rare stainless steel windshields with fixed front glass and moveable vent windows on the sides. (See page 509 of "Chris Craft - The Essential Guide".) There were only 170 of these boats made. All stainless is in great condition. Side glass is good. Front glass has been cracked by vandals. Most of the wood is rotten and needs to be replaced, but it's all there for patterns.
I hate to pitch it, but I have no use for it, and it's destined for the dumpster by Labor Day if no one wants it. As it's free, I will not ship it, so who ever wants it, needs to pick it up from the Detroit area. Prefer giving it to someone who can put it to good use. Email if interested. Thanks.

Recommended manuals? -- Lucas, 13:27:33 10/29/02 Tue (papergirl.benjerry.com/12.19.216.67)
I recently purchased a 1956 22' Skiff, partially restored (Burlington, VT). I'm looking for some good manuals, etc. to help me along. I'm a novice boat restorer but an experienced woodworker. What I really need is some pictures to show me what it should look like to start with. I'm awaiting a couple books I bought at Amazon, but I'm curious about what the experts have to say...
Any recommendations?

I own several wooden boats and 2 sail boats and thought this would be a good boat to do some fishing from with out too much additional maitenance.

I am offering to a 'good home' the above boat. I bought it last year but found it needs to be re-ribbed in the mid-section of the boat, and this project is beyond my current capabilities. Otherwise the boat is in very good condition, including well maintained engines. Email me if you have interest in this project. The boat is in the Chicagoland area and I will sell it for the first $7,500 (firm).

- Refastening lapstrake boats -- Paul Palumbo, 11:41:53 05/31/03 Sat (cache-rl05.proxy.aol.com/152.163.252.229)
Just came across your interesting/informative site. If anyone is interested, I used to own a 30' '59 CC Skiff. I refastened her where she was leaking, using an interesting type to bronze nut/bole that was manf by the Century co. It consisted of a very small bronze bolt, probably about 1/8" and about 2-3" long, with a flat head. The bolt consisted of a square washerlike threaded piece with the corners folded over to provide a grip for the wood. Wherever the leaks in the laps were, I drilled a small pilot hole between the rivets, and inserted the bolt from the outside. The washerlike bolt was threaded from the inside; some sealant was squeezed into the seam from the inside, and the screw/nut was tightened. I cured a lot of leaks this way. I don't know where you could find fastenings like this, maybe would have to be special made. Good luck to all you restorers out there.

- Troubleshooting -- Bob, 05:51:00 05/18/03 Sun (cache-mtc-am01.proxy.aol.com/64.12.97.6)
My 1957 30' open Sea Skiff wes closely examined over the winter to identify and correct sources of noise and vibration. We have accomplished a very great improvement. The findings might be helpful to others as you keep these wonderful woodies in shape. We found 1.) the duplex wood pads through which the rudders were mounted were loosely located, bedding had deteriorated and pads were cracked or split. This was also the condition of the strut pads. All four were replaced. 2.) While rudders were OK, the packing glands and shafthead retainers were worn and replaced. 3.) all Yoke connections in the steering system rods were badly worn or corroded. The threaded pins were especially bad. The yokes were drilled and bushed and new shouldered pins used. 4.) the props, which had been reconditioned numerous times before and said to be OK were viewed through new closer standards. While meeting the needs of 95% of the applications, the props were replaced. Consistent blade shape within the unit and between the units was improved markedly. All These changes have resulted in a great gain in smoothness and reduced noise. Performance is better with the new 14x12 cupped propellers replacing the old 14x11 on this repowered hull using twin 2001 Chrysler LM 225HP V8s. The lesson seems to be that tighter standards show the way to better performance. Bob

I would also like to talk to people who own 1955 Sea Skiff's 26 footers. I live in Montana and this vessel will be used on Yellowstone Lake at 7,000 feet plus. It is undergoing restoration. I'm about to start stripping the hull on my 1955 22' Sea skiff. I've recieved some great information from other lapstrake owners and wondered if anyone else thought about this technique.
I've been told to strip the hullof all paint, or most of it so I can get a smooth hull. Next tighten and fix all the screws. Clean all loose paint and glue from between the strakes. Apply a wood preservative to the hull. Then push in new 3M 5200 between the strakes. Finally apply a flexable epoxy (CPES) to the hull followed by a good hull paint.
Someone also suggested using cualk at all of the strake joints. The idea of the 3M 5200 sounds like a better idea to me.
Any Ideas or suggestions, or am I on the right track?
Thanks

Was just wondering who was going to show up at Mount Dora, and how many Skiffs we might have down there. I don't know if Dennis and Julie will bring Sport or the Jersey Skiff, and I do know that Bob Churchill won't be attending, so how many of us are there going to be?
And if we do have a good showing, any chance of us getting a decent dock space this year? Instead of being shoved out on the Boardwalk for what, like the 4 year in a row?
I won't be able to take the river cruise with you all, hey, remember I am the kid and I do still have to work for a living, LOL!! Seriously, I just can't spend that much time away from the office, especially since the Hartwell show is the week after and I'll be off for that as well.
I hope we have a good showing, and hope to see some of my new friends from Joe Wheeler in attendance!

As you can see, we now officially have a banner on the Sea Skiff message board. My friend Mom (okay so I call her that, remember I am the "kid" of the group LOL!) was nice enough to put this together and host it on her website.
The pictures are from both Sea Skiff's weekends, the first being at Hartwell in 2001 and the 2nd at Joe Wheeler State Park in 2002.
Mom is also kind enough to have a small picture album of Sea Skiffs on her website, which she will graciously allow us to add to when we get more of our beauties.
Her website address is:
http://www.homestead.com/jagandcompany/
Okay, you caught me, my other passion in life besides Sea Skiffs is the television show JAG. I confess that I'm a JAGnik, and this is actually how I met Mom. Anyway, scroll down, and click on the Chris Craft Sea Skiff Club, and it will not only bring up the banner but other pictures as well. And what's really cool, if you click on the banner, it will link you directly to this board!!
Thanks for you hard work Mom, now if we could get you to Mount Dora I'm sure that most Skiff owners would be glad to give you a ride!!

I know in today's society it isn't politically correct to say Merry Christmas, but oh well!!
I have burned a CD of Sea Skiff pictures (including some from both Sea Skiff weekends at Hartwell and Joe Wheeler) and have sent them to a friend of mine who will be making a banner containing pictures of our Sea Skiffs. I know its been forever, but I have been stressing over a state exam had to take and issues with the state licensing board I was dealing with since January. They are resolved (yeah I passed my test, LOL!) and now I can hopefully get back to more important things, like SEA SKIFFS!!!
I hope everyone has a very good Holiday, and I just want to say I am grateful for having the privilege of meeting several of you and am honored to call you friends!
Take Care!

There's a fellow with a 30' 1960 Sea Skiff for sale at what seems like quite a good price. It's in running condition, original engines. Interior is mostly original as well. Are there any particular "trouble spots" I should be checking for in this model and year? Based on a quick first look, it does seem pretty clean and sound...

Engine-Prop matches -- Bob Durand, 11:32:25 11/03/02 Sun (cache-mtc-am01.proxy.aol.com/64.12.97.6)
I have a 1957 30' open Sea Skiff with dual Chrysler 318LM V8 engines and am interested to know what other owners use in the hull/engine/propeller systems. I still utilize the origional 3-blade 14x11 3-blade Chris Craft units supplied with the boat and its straight-six engines counter rotating engines.they are #838RH &839LH.Any Suggestions?

- Sea Skiff Bow Flags -- Faye, 07:28:04 11/06/02 Wed (cache-dp01.proxy.aol.com/205.188.209.101)
Just a reminder that there will be no more Sea Skiff Flags like the ones we sold. My vendor is quitting business. The Michigan Chapter of ACBS has found a source and will be selling the flags from their chapter if you want them. Their flags will be on the same fabric as the Chris Craft Flags that they currently sell. Contact them if you need a flag. We would like for our boats to use the SeaSkiff Flag when we are all together... It looks soooooo good!

Sea Skiff's are the BEST! -- Faye, 15:29:42 10/27/02 Sun (cache-dp01.proxy.aol.com/205.188.209.101)
Good Job Jennifer... I hope the message board catches on. We need to spread the word. Why don't you contact Bill Large and give him the address for the newsletter. I hope that a lot of people sign on. I am sending this address to Randy for the web-page, hoping that we can link to it. Talk to you soon. It was great to see you and your Dad in Wheeler. We look forward to seeing you in St. Augustine? Faye

Joe Wheeler was a success!!! -- Jennifer, 13:00:36 10/27/02 Sun (dialup-63.210.79.122.Dial1.Atlanta1.Level3.net/63.210.79.122)
Wow! We have 10 boats in the water at Joe Wheeler, what a nice display of Sea Skiff's! Of course my was being its usual temperamental self and wouldn't run, but Chris Smith was nice enough to allow me to ride in Odyssea, and what a ride!
Why ride in a Chevy when you can ride in a Cadillac? Yippee! It was also great to meet some new folks, Ken & Nan, Dick & Janet, Ron & Jo Carol (I hope I got that right), Ray & Judy, and of course my friends Bob & Sheila, Dennis & Julie (and Ben!) and Alan & Faye.
All in all it was a successful weekend, and let's keep those Skiff's going!
