Subject: Recommended manuals?

I recently purchased a 1956 22' Skiff, partially restored (Burlington, VT). I'm looking for some good manuals, etc. to help me along. I'm a novice boat restorer but an experienced woodworker. What I really need is some pictures to show me what it should look like to start with. I'm awaiting a couple books I bought at Amazon, but I'm curious about what the experts have to say...

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Lucas

[> I don't know of any recommended manuels Lucas, but you might try the Mariner's Museum in Virginia. They (for a small price) can give you the "hull" card & photos (if they have any) on your boat for a small fee. I know Faye & Alan have a 57 22 footer, maybe they can be of assistance. I would start with the Mariner's Museum, maybe email ACBS too.....there addy is www.acbs.org they might could help..... -- Jennifer, 00:14:52 10/30/02 Wed (dialup-209.246.189.132.Dial1.Atlanta1.Level3.net/209.246.189.132)

Lucas, >>
I know of no manuals for the restoration process, however in one of the past issues of Classic Boating there was a featured article on the restoration of a sea skiff that really is exceptional. It is a photo documented step by step of the process that the owner went thru. If you would like to know the issue number etc, I would be happy to provide it, also the email address of the people who did the restoration. Faye

If you are in Burlington,I am located across the Lake on Willsboro Bay. I have a totally restored 22 foot, 1956 Sea Skiff just hauled up from Orange County, New York. If you send me your e-mail address I will let you know of it's exact location so that you can see one in a refinished state if you like. She's a beauty with original engine, instruments and accessories.
