 I'm not naming names here, but there are people every year at Warwick and other comps who get the rules "bent" for them on e.g. A/BCD or beginners classification etc because they ask for exemption, and the organisers agree either because they want a favour in return, or because it's a small university who they know isn't going to do very well anyway, so they think it doesn't matter. Which SUCKS. But it happens....And for once it's not just the big unis who are to blame. I hope all organisers this year will have the guts to stick to whatever silly rules they might have chosen, unless there is a really valid reason for allowing them to be bent. Of course, definition of valid is a difficult one, I know. But whatever rules you're going to have, please at least enforce them across the board....
