*bangs head against wall*.

Well, here we are again!

As Robin points out, IMTM doesn' *need* trialling because we've been using it for 40 years - nothing has changed. From the very outset I have always said that the new format needs to be trialled and shaken down before use at IVDC, and that has not changed. I don't see why the issues raised in our lengthy and often circular debates make any difference to the planned introduction of the format.

I might also add that at no stage have I attempted to conceal the issue of unbalanced teams - in fact I have acknowledged it from the very beginning. I refer you to the 'Comments on Proposed Format: Bad Points" section of my original proposal document. As far as this issue applies to the GCM (and fiddly scoring details certainly do not apply to the GCM) it has already been considered as part of the proposal at the last meeting (those who attended may remember this).

Sure, one or two unbalanced teams may be worse off as a result of the new ideas. No solution is perfect. What we get instead is every other team being banded together in an otherwise impossible way - can you imagine what it will be like waiting for recalls, and all 8 of you getting your number read out (or not) at once? How much more of a unified team feeling is that going to produce? It will make a huge difference!

All other issues aside, TMTM knocks spots off every other method when it comes to team spirit and enjoyment, and at the end of the day, what else matters?
