 This is an issue that really interests me - as a uni we haven't competed in i'm guessing 20 years, but we have over 400 members every year, about 300 of whom are beginners. i'd love to be able to take people to comps, but we only learn very basic steps and no technique since classes often have 200 people in. there is simply not much scope for this to change. so i am reduced at the moment to only opening it to people who had prior dancing experience. any advice?
