IVDC is already focused on dancesport!!

From a team that always puts out an offbeat team and does have a few couples who compete in rock and roll (My Manchester R+R was not as flashy as Carolines, but it still raised a few smiles!!), I don't see the problem in redefining the constitution to what we already interpret it as.

I will always strongly oppose any attempt to remove offbeat and rock and roll, but I do feel that the ballroom and latin events are the main focus.

I believe that the idea of this suggestion is to stop the whole thing expanding into other styles of dances. At Manchester, we can dance salsa and mambo, but do we really want to try and fit them into IVDC? Do we want to get our breakdancers in? Our ballet and tap societies?

It is a fine line that we are balanced upon, as it would be very tempting to expand to encompass everyone, but as has been mentioned previously extending things over 2 days is not viable. We have to prioritise!
