In fact, I believe that it would be sufficient to implement the "Must have competed at S/NUDA to compete at IVDA" rule in order to redce the overall time taken. This would hopefully discourage ad-hoc entries (which seem to be everybody's bugbear) and so reduce the number of overall entries, increasing the quality of entries actualy performed. If teams know from the start that they have to enter wholeheartedly or not at all, that should solve both ends of the problem.
I would like to see what the effect of this proposal alone has on the next competition before we undertake any more radical changes.
