I want to add my support for the O+S team idea. In teams like Leeds, we often lose people through illness, work pressures etc on the day. At IVDA this year we began with a full A to D team and by the time the day arrived we had an A team, A D team and a single person in the B team.

The people who do turn up are often the ones who have worked very hard towards the day and really want to compete. Telling them they can't, through no fault of their own is not something I would like to do.

We have very few dancers who are likely to make finals during the open events and dancing in the team is more opportunity to dance. Although all dancers would probably prefer to dance for their own teams, making up their own team with other dancers in the same situation is much more preferable to not dancing at all.

It is also a great opportunity to get to know more people and build up comradeship across the university circuit, that isn't just isolated to your own team.
