The floor is quite big (long rather than wide)

There are some steps but they are well back from the dance floor unlikely to be in the way of getting onto the dance floor.

Personally having danced at both for uni/open circuit I think that the Tower Ballroom in Birmingham is better suited to everyone's needs.
