Subject: FAVOURITE GIG

Hi Lads and Ladesses-
A trip down memory lane for all of us JAM/TSC/WELLER fanatics- here's the topic-

WHAT was/is your favourite gig or memory from a WELLER performance?

Mine was hanging with all of the messageboard regulars and the famous BULLY going over the wall in London at Earl's Court backstage and all. Wot a great night!!!

[> There was a good turnout from board members to meet you that night , Jerry. You deserved your back stage treat too! As for me, well the first night of the acoustic tour in Belguim always stands out as does the bouncing floor at Poole Arts Centre after the tabloid sh:te. Brighton (Nov 2002?) also stands out - 20 year anniversary with Monday, Pretty Green, In The Corwd, Cornershop, Malice etc. Pre-gig Quadrophenia tour and afters at the Funky Fish bar too! -- The Weaver, 10:27:25 08/30/06 Wed

[> Yes Weaver...Poole Arts Centre...what a gig small, sweaty venue and as you said the bouncing floor.....hopefully it will be the same in December...saying that the Radio 2 Acoustic Show he did a few year's ago for the release of "Days Of Speed" was superb, seeing play those songs stripped down to there bare bones in such a small venue was just the mutts nuts. -- A.K, 17:17:52 08/30/06 Wed

[> [> Hi Andy. Poole was the arts centre last time but hopefully the Lighthouse will be just as good. Radio 2 at Broadcasting House was good too with Whitey and others guesting. Didn't Jim and RC organise that one?! -- The Weaver, 11:31:39 08/31/06 Thu

[> The half empty PW Movement gigs, it was the 1st time Weller started playing Jam songs again like the new 'Rock' version of "That's Entertainment" and the new songs like "Kosmos", but no one else was interested except us. I was at one in Newport, Wales where he was totally fucked-off with the lack of attendance and didn't come on til @ 9:30 probably coz he thought more people might turn up, but they didn't. He seems more inspired when he's got a bit of attitude so to me it was a great gig. -- SK (Sponsered by Jack Daniels), 19:39:59 08/31/06 Thu

[> The 'Food In A Box' / Spliff night with ModJezza, and getting back-stage was undoubtedly a gem ... but I'd have to plum for the Kosovo benefit gig at the Apollo a few years back as my fave. Seeing Robert Carlyle welcome Weller on-stage, watching him do a great version of 'Whats Going On' plus others, and then performing alongside Ray Davies, Noel Gallagher, Stereophonics, etc, was amazing. To boot, Travis, Toploader, Squeeze, Noel, Stereophonics, Davies all did sets too ... top bill! -- Bully, 17:09:16 09/01/06 Fri
