there is no reason to believe that the next AD won't be someone who can "rebuild" what many seem to feel has been lost ....

Now is the time for those we feel that they were push aside, slighted, or just plain dump on to let the University community know how they feel and more importantly why. There will always be honest diagreements in how and what should be done. The key here is caring and committment. It has been said that the opposite of love is not hate but apathy. If those people of passion who feel distanced for a "loved" give up then the Cheryl's of the world win. Apathy takes over and the "loved" one is lost.

I hope anyone who cares about SCU the institution and not just the collection of some of its individuals takes the opportunity to make their voice heard.

I for one think this is a wonderful time for SCU athletics. I LOVE the type of "small college" football that Santa Clara played when I was a student. I love the Slippery Rocks, and Leighs, and Cal Poly's of this world. Realistically that is not going to be coming back "right away", but Nat'l Championships in Women's and Men's soccer just might, and volleyball has a good chance to continue its rise (the win over Pepperdine in Malley would be GREAT to see in a well attended Leavey ... and it being on "national" TV just might). Men's Basketball in the WCC is going to be "exciting" as ever and it looks like every team is kicking it up at least a notch.

So if you want to Send a Message to Fr. Prez ... and the rest of the community about what its going to take to get folks (including yourself) more involved ... feel free to voice it here ... and perhaps most importantly what are you willing to do to make it happen

this summer I have been spending some effort (and cash) on improving the spirit situation ... and working on making this forum more attractive to users ...
