Subject: Intelligence Vs. Love

Before this is read , it must be noted that I chose love, so my intelligence is limited and and leaves questaining to the accuracy of the opinion in my statement.

SpiritWind : The statement I make here may be one sided.I have no negative feelings toward intelligence ,just the way it is commonly used without the balance of Love. If it is found to be in offense , feel free to remove my post .


As a child I had a life questain that would pass through my mind from time to time.
I wondered was it better to be the smartest person in the world or was it better to be the person with the most Love in their heart ?

Being smart , was like having a lot of money (rich ) . It was power. At least that's how I saw it then , and I'm re-evaluating that thought now in life as I still think I feel the same way as I did as a child.

What value does intelligence have ? It is a well sort after thing this knowlege and intelligence.People look up to intelligence . Wise sayings are always being re- quoted all the time. There are many people today who read lots of books on expanding brain power and functions , how to enlighten one self , books with quotes and statements from wise men from asia, and even books on nutrition that can have the brain working at peak performance with certain diets.

Since I believe when we die , our spirit no longer is limited to the boudries of the body and brain , and we see what is outside the illusion we call reality , ( Earth life ).
We become aware .We understand and know Truth .

So I wonder why all the expence in books , and why all the time spent to be more intelligent and what purpose does it have ? I don't believe this knowlege addiction will be needed in the next plane we transform to after this life.So is all this enlightenment and brain boosting developing just another material lust ? Or is knowlege the key to better understanding fellow humans better, taking care of the life sustaining resources of the Earth in a more compassonate and caring way , and learning to peacefully coexist with fellow humans world wide ?

I would think that knowlege and intelligence would civilize humans. Make them more compassonate , more caring to fellow humans, more peaceful.

Now I believe with education system of these days, humans are most likely of a higher intelligence in general than they were a hundred years ago .
Has anyone noticed more compassion , caring and peace, love than there was when they were a child.Has intelligence really made us smarter people ?

We split the Atom , we have speed of light wire and wire-less communication devises.We have cars and computors. We travel out of the Earths atmosphere in little crafts that contain an artificial enviorment that humans can live in while they are no longer on the Earth .

So what value for human kind has this intelligence and knowlege brought us ?
And how much of a better place is Earth now that humans are becoming more knowlege able and intelligent ?

Is intelligence Love ? About 25 years ago I met an interesting person who told me " intelligence without love and compassion is the same as evil ".I don't know if this holds true. But I remember these words as if I just heard them come from the persons mouth that said them .

I sometimes say things that makes sense and seem intelligent.I was once even complimented on something I said and another person said I was wise . Actually I don't feel wise .The knowlege I know isn't mine .It all comes from the creator , which is what ? or who ?

Now I wonder , if all the people who are on the path to enlightenment , into raising their consciouness ,hightening their itelligence, boosting their brain power and expanding their minds were into raising their compassion level and enforcing their Love , would the world than be better off ?

Could Love do for the world what intelligence over looks ?

I got on this subject because I find that most conversations I have with people who are deeply into expanding their self awareness and intelligence end up as just them wanting to prove they are more intelligent than I .Something I may have agreed upon if the person just asked me who was more Intelligent .

So even though I will admitt to not seeing intelligence as a priority in life and not being very intelligent myself , I get challanged by enlightened ones as to their spiritual and intellectual superiority .Usually in a way that says , " See you were wrong all along ".

I believe enlightened people don't even notice that they have developed a supriority complex toward others .I will admit most who I meet that do this are more intelligent than I. And they have a stronger broader based vocabulary. They use words well and know words that have no meaning to me cause I lack a large volcabulary and I'm limited to expressing my thoughts in the small vocabulary I know and use.

And this is where I see different from some others.Some people believe thay are wise or intelligent , when I see the intelligence they display is not owned by them. They seem to be taking credit for something they believe is theirs , knowlege and intelligence , when I see intelligence as something that is being lent to them by the creator .Yet people beleive it is they who are intelligent.They are as smart as God almost , at least that's what they are displaying . Maybe it's a subconsious thing they are doing without realizing it .I sure wish more people sort after the Love of God , and they were flaunting that around instead of their intelligence.

Now maybe it's my childhood religion that has been made to sort of brain wash me , but I go back to a religious based story where 2 people are in a paradise and they are told to eat from the tree of life.And not from a tree that wll give humans the intelligence to reason what's good and evil.Supposingly if they ate the fruit that was considered forbidden they have intelligence similiar to God .Different religions and cultures around the world have similiar stories of humans quest for being intelligent.

So is this a story made up to convince the common people to remain ignorant and uneducated.Was it made up by the ruling class at the time for the purpoes of controling humans . Or was it wise ancient advise that humans will only use their intelligence for self serving puposes , to bully others ( even if it's just in words ), to belittle others and prove they are ignorant and their information is of low intelligence and has littel value.To control others and eventually distroy human kind , with intelligence.

I've seen people change with power and wealth .And I think it' is so much part of human nature that even the most thoughtful person will become change when they have power stonger than another . As the saying goes ; absolute power corupts .
And I see the search and collection of knowlege for the pupose of being superiorly intelligent to being almost equivalent to who has the biggest guns or the most bombs.

Last night while waiting in a parking lot in my car in town for someone , I was relaxing to music on the car radio. As I listen to the drumming of the drums in the song I became deeply relaxed I started to feel kind of euphoric.The last think on my mind before becoming relaxed was the intelligence thing .And how I lack what others seem to take for granted and use to hog their way through this life , intelligence.
And I questain to myself if I need to change lanes in life and perhaps I'm out of balance and I need to become more intelligent and consciously stive to be more intelligent and less compassionate and reduce my love for life and others .Just enough for a balcance

As I became euphoric I feel a slight lifting feeling as if part of my spirit has left my body , or I was partly out of my material shell. My biological space suit .
And I see but not from my eyes, primitive tribes people.I see what are called eskimos
( Innuit People )I think they are called.I see Africans , Asians , Native North Americans, Soth Americans , primitive tribes people from different parts of Europe and all around the world.
And they are all chanting in their cultural language and playing percussion instruments. And I see a day ( maybe from the past ? ) that all are simultaneously playing percussion instuments and chanting all at the same time .
And when they are at the peak of this ritual , the percussion instrument playing and chanting brings a trance like awareness and they are feeling this same euphoric feeling as I and they all are partly outside their bodies and they all become aware of the other tribes people all over the world are chanting at the same time. They feel and become in a state of oneness.And I along with them .And it's real and detailed. I even believe they see me and they are aware of me . And I see these primitive people who don't have many words in their vocabulary. They probably wouldn't seem to be intelligent to most people.I bet they can't even read .And I see my place in life.I see that it's OK not to want to be intelligent .And I thank these tribal people from around the world who came to let me know , that like money , no matter how much knowlege people have they will never be satisfied and will always seek more. Because people want knowlege , they will become jealous when they come into the presence of someone who knows so much, their own knowlege will have little or no value to that person who is of higher intelligence.

And these primitive people also let me know that just being content with the whole creation , to empty the mind and clear all thoughts and feel the oneness of the spirit connection that we are all tied to each other with a thread like light .And to shed my thoughts and concerns of the material consumtion of intelligence , for it only has value in the " Material World ".

First let me say that I did not find this post to be offensive at all. I found this to be though provoking, and I appreciate that. Reading the few posts here from you, I feel that you are intelligent, and you are capable of much love.
(Please keep in mind that the following is my opinion only and not supported by scientific evidence :-) )

Intelligence is more than just knowledge. There are different types of intelligence. There is the book intelligence, we learn from schooling. Then there is the inner intelligence, which I feel you have. You are aware of those around you, aware of your inner feelings and most of all aware of yourself. The people who are searching for this in books, will most likely not find that. I personally feel that loving all is the highest intelligence that one can achieve. The vision that you had last night, was showing you just this (in my opinion). I feel that you were shown this, because you were questioning yourself. You were shown that spiritual intelligence is much different than book intelligence. I feel you posses the spiritual intelligence.
You have brought out many strong points with the intelligence vs. Love issue, that I do agree with. Where has the high intelligence gotten us. Yes, we can visit the moon, we can split the atom (and cause much destruction with that also). Then we can get on the issue with past intelligence. I am always amazed when I look at the pyramids, or the drawings on sides of mountains that can only be seen from the sky. In my opinion, that is intelligent. To do that without any technology, to me is mind blowing. Are we as a society really getting more intelligent?
Yes, to make it now a days we need some intelligence. We have to know how to read and write. We have to know how to count money. However, intelligence doesn't stop there. We need to know compassion for others, we also need to be able to love without condition...this is where we lack in intelligence (not all, but most.

I want to thank you for posting this, I enjoy reading your posts, and love how they make me take time to think. Thank you also for sharing your vision, to me it just strengthened my belief.

As I see it, while we are still in our present bodies we can/should use the intelligence we have to advance ourselves spiritually and materially, leading to not only helping ourselves and our families, but also, if possible, to helping others.
..... Applying love is best when there is reciprocity, and living in a community in which, if possible, all love and help one another is preferable to living a life of dog-eat-dog highly competitive materialism. But many haven't got a choice, and if they have/had it they may not know how to apply properly the love they feel/felt for others.
..... There are very many denominations/versions of very many religions all over this planet, and they may point a way; but is it the RIGHT way?
