So, let's for argument's sake say we can all agree that African Americans were historically wronged. Let's also agree that there is, on both sides, still a very prevalent attitude of personal and institutional racism present. So now let's look a hypothetical situation - say a liberal administration and congress manage to grab power and on their way the promised reparations as part of their campagin. Now they intend to pay up. Even if we could agree that reparations were owed (which we don't but work with me here), would paying it be worth the potential racial backlash that would occur. What do you think would happen, in literal terms?
