Hello,

My uncle should have graduated from Globe High in 1977, but he dropped out. His name was Lloyd Palmer. He died of a heart attack while hospitalized for organ failures in August of 1998. For the last 8 years of his life, Lloyd was partially paralyzed and moved about in a wheel chair. In the 1970s, he had been very athletic.

Unfortunately, Lloyd spoke of harsh racial tension at Globe High in the 1970s. But I know he wasn't really innocent either. I know he played football for Coach Termain. But Lloyd's back went out in 1990.

In the 1970s, Lloyd spoke of racial tension among the Anglo, Mexican, and Apache students. Globe has had a rough history at times.

As for me, I was devestated when my football teammate, Mike Noline, died in the Persian Gulf War in 1991. I will always remember the time he picked up a fumble during a football game against Coolidge High School. We won that game. But we lost Mike in 1991 - Semper Fidelis (USMC).
