Hi Terry
Did you/do you have an MOD licence to remove artifacts from this site? and have you informed your county archaeologist of your finds? and what happened to the Browning machine gun you found?

I'm sorry if this sounds a little harsh but so much has been taken from crash sites and since been lost that it really is,in my opinion, one of the worst examples of distruction of history we have seen in the UK.if people went around pulling bits off castles and other ancient sites and carting them off there would be an outcry.

Just to recap.it is an offence under the protection of military remains act for anyone to "Tamper with, damage, move, remove or unearth any part of a crashed military aircraft without first obtaining a licence from the secretary of state authorizing them to do so"

I won't go into the laws of possession of a section five firearm but needless to say it's more than just a slap on the wrists!
