Of course, because:
1. It was a rip-off of the '86 movie.
2. It was a simply a monster/slasher movie, as oppose to brilliany '86 movie.

Chris Walas has done a fantastic job for the makeup of "The Fly". But as a director, he can't get to the tip of the talent of Cronenberg.
