Instead of drilling with two bits, use only one. Tilt your vice to one side using the table or shims to achieve 5 degrees. Then drill one side, reverse your blank and drill the other side in a V type pattern. This will give you the angled sides you want, without any sort of transition ridge on the soundboard. You will probably have to clean out the bottom a little, but it's a small price to pay.
