Bowdrill,

You asked me about my teachings at the other place. I don't like to talk about a lot of things on the internet. Got in some problems several years ago..so kinda keep my mouth shut on some things these days. Seems like many on the internet like to get into your private life and well it wasn't good, effected even my family.

I am an American Mongrel....my grandmother was not. She taught me most of what I know..and many others as well.

One of the things one who taught me a lot when I was a young girl, he told me I would be accepted by many and accepted by none. He was right.

He also told me not to mistrust whites all the time and not to trust Indians all the time. Or I would find myself hurt a lot. Again he was right.

My mother wanted nor still wants anything to do with part of who she is. So was I raised Indian? No..and many things I will not do because of this...don't feel it is my place.

I guess I can't ask people on this internet thing to understand me...don't expect them to. But as an Elder just a couple days ago told me.. Those who know you, know who you are. Those that don't, you don't owe anything to.

Probably told you more then you wanted to know...just thinking outloud I guess.

And now I have to work on this new thing in life...not being ruled by guilt and trying to apologise to the world. ANd no...not sure what I apologise for... guess the guilt? WHew..... when do we get to stop having so many lessons and just sit in our rocking chairs?

Sorry...rambling again... but just wanted you to know wasn't ignoring you. YOur words have always meant a lot to me... and I thank you.
