You beg the question.

There is no question that the First Amendment bans establishment of religion and guarantees free exercise of religion. The question is what do those two things mean?

And, more important for what I am trying to air out here, do they mean something different for ndns than for other people?

I was in Texas when concealed carry passed and was not too thrilled about it until I saw all the requirements for a license--then I didn't much care.

There has been no crime wave as a result. The only homicides in public places by permit holders have been clear-cut self defense cases, which was the whole point of concealed carry.

I think there has been one non-justified homicide by a permit holder, but that happened at home where the permit was irrelevant.

Virtually all of the crimes by permit holders have been regulatory infractions.

My verdict after over five years: concealed carry certainly did no harm and may have done some good.

Steve
