Not being Cherokee or Chahta, as you will realise, Tso, I'm not qualified to answer your post but wanted to say, what a great sight that falcon must have been. I saw your message on the other board too. Occasionally there are unusual birds in the area near here, no falcons though. A crane sometimes lands on a nearby roof, spying for fish in a small pond a neighbour has, I think. Once 2 crows tried to see it off, hopping frantically back and forth along the roof and cawing at it. When the crane took off, one crow followed apparently trying to ensure it kept going, while the other one stayed on the roof and watched intently.

The nearest we've got to coyotes is foxes - it's a suburb not a city but quite built up and seeing them trotting down the road looks quite incongruous. I must admit to putting food out for them, they sit looking beseechingly at me through the windows - crafty things - until I weaken and offer left over chicken pieces or whatever.

Seeing that falcon so close up near your home must have been amazing though, I wonder if he will visit again.

Bella
