KiowaScout, first let me say how much I appreciate your time in making such a careful and thoughtful post. You obviously chose your words with great care and that is appreciated. I agree with you about "the nature of the beast". I have never participated in a message board community where I didn't see rough teasing, serious jabs and downright flaming. With the possible exception of a Cancer support board that my husband and I belong to. Those people are fighting for their lives and everyone there seems to have an inate understanding of the value of postive interaction and the harm in anger and negativity.

That said, I have to say, in all frankness, that I disagree with your characterization of Keenhmah's behavior. This was not an isolated flare of temper, but rather an ongoing pattern of posts (both here and on NDNZ) that is blatantly rude and MEANT to be demeaning. I don't care a fig about the CONTENT of her posts, at least in terms of her insults to those she feels don't "look" as Indian as she does. That's hardly a new attitude in NDN community and one I no longer care to waste time or thought on. But she should respect Sunny's wishes regarding the privacy of this site. She has stated that "no one cares about this board" at least in the way that Sunny feels they will. I know better. Sunny's (and everyone else's) desire to keep the UCN crowd AWAY from this site is valid. Keenhman doesn't know John Cornsilk the way I do. I have seen him trash and kill two good Cherokee boards. He would cheerfully add this one to his list if he knew it was here.

I also find her continuing insistence that SHE is being harassed by "wannabes" to be nothing more than malicious manipulation, giving her an "excuse" to further spew hatefulness. No one posts to her at all in that way until she spitefully drops another post on NDNZ about this site.

If you know her (and I assume you do) you might ask her to re-examine her actions. They are unbecoming, to say the least. I told Sunny that I had no feelings one way or another about a password. But after thinking about it, I tend to agree with you and Steve. Also, I think it may begin to lessen participation here, because people may not always want to take the trouble to log in. I will go with the majority opinion of course, and Sunny will make the final decision. It's her board.
