Yeah, me too.

When I was sworn in as a lawyer, I also swore never to use my skills against another Indian. It seemed to me that we suffer enough without causing each other to suffer. It seemed to me I could always find some non-Indian to use for a punching bag.

I stayed out of it except in voting and writing letters and giving money when my tribe had its constitutional crisis. I did not sue anybody or advocate suing anybody outside of tribal court.

However, this year I violated that oath and involved myself in a democracy uprising within the Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas.

I've been taught not to violate oaths. I've also been taught that a government should not oppress its own people.

I dunno what to do...nobody is listening to the Indian Bill of Rights argument...
