M Coupe engine failure

Has there been any response to this question?
I am presuming that the engine in the 2001/2002 model year M Coupe and M Roadster is simialrly affected to the M3 Coupe.
It is in most respects the same unit.

My Coupe is a Nov 2001 model, first registered in the UK in Jan 2002....and bought by me from BMW UK dealership 6 weeks ago with 6K miles on it.

To say that I am concerned is a major understatement although here in the UK we do get a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty
