Subject: Gateway Solo 9100 LCD display

I really hope you can help. I have a gateway solo 9100 and it has gone insane. I was watching a DVD and during the movie the screen when black - which is not unusual if I haven't touched the mouse in a while - but when it went black I could still barely see what was on the screen. When I went to light the screen back up I touched the mouse and moved it and nothing happened. I tried rebooting, but that did not help. I can still plug it into an external video source and use it, but I have to manually swich it to video out. I can't access any of the BIOS info during bootup because it doesn't outsource the video until completely booted up. Though I believe if you hit the F1 key while its booting up it will go into bios - you just can't see what you are doing. Also, my DVD player won't work anymore. I am thinking if the LCD screen went out that I wouldn't be able to make anything out at all on the screen. Could it have something to do with the DVD player? Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! :)
