Subject: BLAKE'S WORLD
What does a Giant Lava Lamp have to do with hogs? Better yet, what does a non-existent Giant Lava Lamp have in common with the crowd that likes to ride hogs? It will be interesting to see how the hog-riders react to the INVISIBLE GIANT LAVA LAMP.
Blake claims there will be hundreds of vendor booths, live music at multiple locations, fun for kids, family oriented events, and lots more. When was the last time you saw kids riding a hog? The temperature at Soap Lake in mid-July hovers in the 100F range. Will the hog-riders shed all the black leather and go skinny-dipping in the healing waters?
Seems like Blake, as a committee of one, is deciding for the locals what Soap Lake has to put up with. Nobody voted for a giant lava lamp farce which pokes fun at Soap Lake and ridicules its residents. Nobody voted to have 2,000 hogs decend on the town. Should Blake's 2,000 hogs show up, with 2 mounted on each hog, the population of Soap Lake will increase by 500%. John's Foods will shut down at noon on Saturday, after the store will have sold out of everything.
The hogs will suck Del Red's kegs dry. Aren't there laws, ordinances, safety regs, requiring security for the locals, and visitors as well? Or is Scotty and his two police officers expected to provide security at taxpayer's expense?
Next thing, Blake will announce that he and three of his close associates will run for city council, take over the town, change the city seal to a Giant Lava Lamp, and push for passage of a city ordinance to tax everybody to raise $25 million to build his Giant Lava Lamp.
You gotta LOVE this country. Only in America can a small fish BE a BIG one in a small pond.

If THEE ENLIGHTENED ONE, really believed there would be 2000 HOGS at his First Lava Love Run, he would have had to BEEF up Security. That has not been done. Just another municipal-myth courtesy of Thee Enlighted One? True Hog Credits go to PHIL WICK who has been putting on the Hog Show for Soap Lake in past years and will be again this year. Wicks have busted butt to bring it here and dipped into their own pockets more than once to do it. Then there comes along a guy who wants a piece of the pie and the stupid Soap Lake Chamber jumps at the opportunity to pay risk coverage. More Discrimination. Wanna bet Blake thinks he can build a better mouse trap? I don't give a Rat's Ass who could. Ethics is the missing ingredient.

Who is Phil Wicks and what does he have to do with this dude Blake that has invited 2,000 hogs to snort mud at Soap Lake?

Wick has no significant other connection, he needs no introduction, he introduced the first of many Hog Rallies. Hail King Wick and Queen Margy!

Re: BLAKE'S WORLD -- Monica, 07:00:59 12/14/04 Tue
As elsewhere on the globe, people in Soap Lake also have separate realities and worlds they live in. What comes to mind reading about the unrealized is the saying, "Psychotics build castles in the air, neurotics live in them." Soap Lake's feverisly hoped for Giant Lava Lamp project is ailing, it's denominator reduced to a makeshift electronic billboard type sign. This makeshift replaces another makeshift, a huge Lava Lamp banner that came first. A world where they call an unrealized dream "realized" is pretty scary territory. What really has been realized is the fact that trying to acquire 25 million or so to build the Giant has ended up being a nightmare.

To sum it up, creduality is belief on slight evidence, with no evidence, or against evidence. In this sense it is the infidal, not the believer, who is credulous. "The simple," says Solomon, "believeth every word." ---Tyron Edwards.
