SL LAVA FLUKE, a project that was passed of as SL Public Works Project and is not, attracted much nationwide coverage not because it so popular or publically correct, but because SL Giant Lava Team sought it. Smart folks are more leery. In better news...the prime talk is that economic development begins with taking care of health issues. City of Spokane is leading the way in that health concept, believing that healthy people is the number one issue in economic development. AGREED!

Outlandish ideas attract outlandish people. It will be quite a surprise to the millions who will visit Soap Lake to find no Lava Lamp. Soap Lake will go down in history as the town which does not have a 60 foot Giant Lava Lamp, as announced to the world.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to come up with an idea. When your called upon to justify your idea, ways and means, push has come to shove. The giant lava lamp team's one-sided heavy media push met shove. After the project was forced to separate itself from the City, it became slag in the lap of whence it came. To reenter the picture & redeem the project it will take a redaction, more than idle talk. As it now sits, it is a lone ranger without a horse to ride up on after City of Soap Lake discovered and counteracted what the project's application turned out to be all about; wrongfull use of the name of City as a foothold for finding ways and means to fund their pricey giant. The whimsical unfeasable flash will have to be reduced to reality before the sizzle will sell again..... if ever.
