"There is still no lava light at the end of the tunnel for Soap Lake, where a couple of entrepreneurs have proposed a giant lava lamp be built as a tourist attraction." ..source, Rick Steigmeyer, World Staff, 12/29/02.

Pipe dreams are a dime a dozen! The big "If" is whether John Glassgo and Blake, creators of the idea, can find money for their project. According to Jean Wallar, Soap Lake City Clerk, a lot of people say, "WHAT A WILD IDEA." They sure are right on. The idea is wilder than a March Hare, more crazed than a beaver who got trapped in it's own dam or a frantic spider that spun itself into it's own web that was meant as a catch-all.

The "when we build it they will come" spoof has fell apart at the seams since the City of Soap Lake was not willing to serve as a front or foot the bill. I agree with the City. Let them gamble on their money.
