Craven Walker (lava lamp inventer), was also a nudist who wanted to ban obese persons from nudist colonies. Maybe the giant lava lamp is more significant to Soap Lake than Blake and Glassco realized at the time they had the flash. Soap Lake's wild history goes back to the nudist beach on it's shores. Maybe Walker did find lava lamps, sex and nudity had a connection. (at least for him) Hypnotic pop-art compared to disliking sex is a weird correlation. Not liking a lava lamp at Soap Lake has nothing to do with sex, it has to do with having common sense. The idea of building a 60ft $25 million dollar pop-art icon has gained the City of Soap Lake nothing but a bad name. "GHOST TOWN PLANS RETURN TO LIFE." Maybe they should start advertising in Ghost Towns in America.
