Nearly a million songbirds are killed each year by collisions with lighted tall buildings. Once again, birds that migrate at night suffer the most. Southern exposures present the greatest risk to birds coming north during the spring migration. Northern faces of buildings are the greatest risk during fall migrations.
SOLUTION: Darken high rise buildings during the spring and fall migratory period.

Conservative estimates are that more than a BILLION birds are killed annually in the USA as a result of human activities.

I BEG YOU! DON'T BUILD A 60 FT GLASS TOWER. IF YOU BUILD IT THE BIRDS WILL COME.

Every year many birds come into bird rescue centres after having hit glass.  If you look from the outside of your house into the window, you may see the reflections of the trees and bushes, this is also what the birds view.

The Conservation-Minded care about bird life! They work hard to increase the public's awareness of the wonder of birds—these loving, warm, caring, intelligent little beings with wings.

SUPPORT THE BIRD MOTTO. "HELP DON'T HURT." Rather than seeking to build a giant lava lamp made of glass that will kill birds, why not become an advocate for birds. Volunteer to save wildlife by joining others who are helping save birds. Those who want to make the world a better place to live and safer for birds are making a giant differance in the world. Birds are fine feathered friends that eat bugs and they will be attracted to the millions of bugs they find swarming around the heated lava lamp.

Latter part of 2000 the New York Port Authority developed several measures to help the Audabon Society try to protect the lives of migrating birds. Tenents in towers were asked to turn off non-essential lights or pull the blinds. Netting was placed around vulnerable areas that attract birds to glass and light. The proactive New Yokers followed the safety measures. Their awareness resulted in keeping many birds from crashing. Many were saved from injury and death.
