Hey CaptnG, we on Maranatha our 32' mariner re-rigged her with a stay sail that's club footed and the jib being a yankee jib at about 110%. Between the two sails we still carry about the same square feet of head sail, but lowering the center of gravity. Less heeling in heaver blows, and then we can roll in the yankee and keep the stay sail up. We have aluminum spars, so we had a tab welded on the mast before we had them all repainted. The sailmaker said the stay is small so we didn't need running back stays. Light air days we can move the staysail and rig the 150% genny. Hope this was a help, Jake.
