The majority of us here share the opinion Buddy Holly was a unique performer.

How important a role he played in the history of Rock 'n' Roll will likely be debated for years. Why? People have varying preferences in what they find entertaining. Many were saddened when they learned of Buddy's untimely death.

There are those who weren't impressed by Buddy, his music or his personality. It is their choice to either like Buddy's music or not. Whether one likes Pat Boone or Gene Vincent or anyone else for that matter, depends upon their personal taste in music.

I like to think I have an open mind, musically speaking, but there are some genres I don't care for. I don't try to force my opinion on others. Sue hasn't done that either.

She expressed her opinion and it's being discussed in this forum.

Death has a way of making a strong impact on folks. Buddy's death forced many younger ones to face that grim reality sooner than they normally would have. Perhaps that's why there are strong opinions pertaining to Buddy's death.

He made a lasting impression having his career cut short so suddenly. Who knows how his reputation would have fared had he lived?

Sorry if my thoughts seem disjointed. A stroke will do that to a person.

I thought it was nice for Sue to express her personal view. History may well support her statements. We'll just have to wait and see.
