 Oh, yeah. I think everything we've heard about the marriage is true. I think he truly viewed Echo as the one that got away.

(I met Echo around 2000/2001, and she was absolutely lovely, as was her husband, Ron.)

Having had so many changes in his personal and professional life, I think Buddy was reflecting on days gone by and yearning for the past.

The timbre of Buddy's voice makes it easy to miss just how dark in nature some of the apartment tape songs are. It's almost as if he's writing a series of songs to his younger self, offering advice years after the fact.

As legendary as these songs are, I believe that had they been completed and released as an album, said album would have gone down in rock history as absolutely groundbreaking.
