 I don't know the actual fate of Ritchie's Strat (or his other guitars for that matter). I did read that they were destroyed in a house fire, but have no proof either way as to whether or not that is actually true.

I read years ago that J.P Richardson's wife, Teetsie, gave the Bopper's Gibson to Dion DiMucci, but that clearly wasn't the case. The guitar was sold at auction in 2014. There is a major error in the sale description - the guitar was not recovered from the crash site. It was on the bus with the rest of the troupe's gear, and later returned to his manager.
