I think either way is a good start, for example if I want that new Steve Perry cd and walk in to buy it used (to save a few bucks maybe) and it's not there (cuz another fan beat me to it) or if it's the last one on the shelf and I buy it, then the next person looking to buy it used has just created "a demand" for an out of stock item, letting used stores know hey these guys want steve perry cds,, and that person is likely to still go buy it new, and create the same demand in a sense.

I guess what I am saying is buying the cds either used or new just buying them (& creating that demand when stock of either is reduced) is a good thing. I only wish Sony could see Steve as a Solo performer vs always looking at him with Journey in their eyes (that is the impression I get from talking to Moyes about that subject).
