Subject: Here I go again...

Well, it was 2 1/2 months of stability this time. I was on 10 mg of prednisone (a relatively low dose for me!) and the lowest possible dose of methotrexate, doing really well! This morning I woke up feeling that familiar burning between my shoulder blades and REALLY REALLY tired...by the afternoon my peak flow had plummetted into my danger zone. I used both my puffer and my nebulizer to no avail. I was getting worse by the minute...honestly, it was the worst asthma attack I have had in a long time! I was actually considering a trip to the ER at one point...and you all know how depserate I would have to be to go there LOL! I managed to stay home, but I did bump myself up to 40 mg of prednisone for the day. I will probably end up staying on 40 for 4-5 days before doing my mega-drop back down to 10mg. Luckily I have a visit already scheduled for tomorrow to see my rheumatologist. I will, most likely, have to bump up my methotrexate dose, since I am on the lowest dose now with NO ill effects to my blood work. I am not really looking foward to the month of nausea that comes along with the bump, but I do look forward to the longer periods of stability that comes along with the higher doses!

I am so frustrated because I had been doing so well that I had even begun to date! I have a boyfriend and things have been going well between us...I would have for this mess to scare him off...he swears he can handle my health issues, but everything is always dealable in theory LOL. I am not so easy to take in person, when the prednisone "withdrawals" take over..the pain, the moodiness, the fatigue, and the inevitable nausea a month afterwards. I am a mess! I guess better he find out now then later.

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Ivy
