My throat closed this morning after 3 days on 40 mg of prednisone, so I went in to see my pulmonologist right away (he always gets me in emergent because of our history). He took one look at me and gave me 2 options...I could either go into ER and get solu-medrol or I could up my prednisone to 40 mg 3x a day (=120mg for the day), so I took option B and popped the prednisone right in his office (I brought it with me LOL). He had two interns with him who looked SOOOO confused by my case it was funny!! LOL...It was a good learning experience for them though on how NOT to get freaked out by the stridor and to LISTEN and LOOK at your patient before automatically sending them to the hospital to get tortured! I did agree that if my throat were to close back up on this high of a dose that I would go into the hospital to at least be observed. He also gave me some xanax to take because I get a bit anxious on 40 of pred, so I can't even imagine what 120 is going to do to my mind LOL! My mom said she is going to buy me a new box of crayons and a new coloring book! LOL :-D

Just wanted to update everyone on this crazyness...after the 3 days on 120 I am supposed to drop back to 40 and wean slowly down to my usual 10. He also believes this is part infection, so that is why my body is reacting so harshly. Thanks for being here to "listen"! I don't know what I would do without this board!!
