Subject: 2 whole months and bumped again...

It's been 2 months since my mega dosing of 120 mg of prednisone for bronchitis...back to my "normal" 10 mg dose for a whole month...well I am back up to 40 mg once again for an "asthma" flare (that's what we call it for the time being until the NIH comes to rescue me from the world of undiagnosed-but-we'll-treat-her-anywayness LOL). I guess in the back of my mind I knew this flare was coming...as I was lowering my dose of pred (as I got to the lowest doses) my RSD (the painful nerve problem in my left foot and leg that was in remission for over a year) came back with a vengence from all the muscle spasms from weaning down...then my stomach decided to COMPLETELY stop up a few weeks ago...then just 2 days ago I was wracked with a 36hr migraine...and today was the clincher, I woke up ate my breakfast (which is part of this NEW *ALLERGEN AND INFLAMMATORY FREE* DIET), got super tired so I went to lay down, and woke up in a stridor, barely able to breath. I used my inhaler, nebulizer treatment, sat in the steam shower in hopes that would make it easier for me to breath, and finally I caved and went to see my pulmonologist. He is wonderful, but his answer (along with all my other docs' answers) is "up your prednisone if you are one big 'ole ball of inflammation". He did call my rheumatologist and they agreed that the methotrexate is not working at this dose so I am to UP that as well (that should be SUPER!!)...but I will do that rather slowly to limit the amount of nausea and mouth sores I get and we will also keep a close eye on my blood work (which luckily we JUST got and it was ALL GOOD so I don't have to worry for a while). My pulm. is also ordering a CT of my lungs to check for intersitial problems and all that other fun and happy stuff that I'm sure I don't have LOL!

Anywho...thought I would give an update...well..I am off to eat some MILLET bread with dinner (that's what today's rotation of grain that I'm allowed is...millet...gross, I know LOL...ah, the things we will do in the hopes of lowering inflammation naturally) LOL!!

Much love to you all!! I hope everyone is doing better then me, and that's why I haven't been reading many posts!!!

Ivy
