(((Ivy))) I am so sorry to hear about this setback. Seems "up the steroid dose" is always the stock answer on how to treat the inflammatory state. I can not imagine anything more frightening than not being able to breath! But you have to do what you have to do to get through it.

I too have looked into anti-inflammatory diets and alternatives. Even had a lady who does massage therapy give me a whole bag of Peau D'Arco tea that looked like bark and tastes AWFUL! Was never consistent with it but may give it another go. I have also considered a gluten-free diet and need to research that further.

Anyway, just hang in there kiddo. You are strong and tough and will get through this episode as you have the others.

p.s. I have tried many times to stay at 15 mg pred, but my condition seems happiest at 20 mg and I now have all the physical attributes of a "cushie" YUCK
